Hey IH! Quick win to share.
I'm building Filleo - a Shopify app that turns messy product data (spreadsheets, supplier catalogs, random CSVs) into complete, publish-ready product listings in seconds. No more manual data entry hell.
The milestone: Posted here on IH a few days ago and got my first 15 waitlist signups who joined for the early access at: https://filleo-roan.vercel.app/
Small number, but these are REAL people who saw the problem and said "yeah, I need this."
What's working for me:
Being specific about the pain point (Shopify merchants waste hours reformatting product data)
Showing, not telling (I described the before/after, not just "AI tool for Shopify")
Hanging out in communities where my users actually are
What I'm learning:
Even pre-launch, people will raise their hand if you're solving a real problem
The signups came from genuine engagement, not "check out my app" spam
Every signup is a chance to validate - I'm asking them WHY they signed up
I shared the demo with them and they actually liked the idea: https://youtube.com/shorts/K_uncUg2NVc?si=PUHPZBKAEfnQ7lJk
Next up:
Getting this thing to feature-complete beta
Talking to these 15 people like my life depends on it (because it kinda does)
Finding the next 85 to hit triple digits
If you're building for Shopify merchants or just starting your own pre-launch grind, happy to chat!
What worked for YOUR first signups?
