Hey Everyone,
It feels strange to say this but I recently self-published a book.
Here's the PH Post: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/buddha-to-bezos
It is called Buddha to Bezos - Timeless Principles of Hyper-Adopted Products.

And so on...
All of these are right, but they are likely symptoms, not the disease.
At some point, I started to closely follow the makers instead. They were the origin. Their products, on the contrary, were first-order effects.
As I studied their blogs, interviews, etc. a few clear patterns emerged. In hindsight, the patterns were obvious.

(b) They were ultra-cognizant of people's emotions (some of them might not care though)

So I put it all together in the form of a book, uploaded on Gumroad, and got it hunted (thanks to Tristan Pollock) on ProductHunt.
I have been an entrepreneur most of my life, and have sold stuff online. But unlike a product, which is a team effort usually, this was just me. As indie as it gets.
The sales are pretty small in the dollar value (compared to what you can make eventually via a product), but huge in terms of satisfaction / psychological reward. Needless to say, this is thrilling.
