My first short-term rental (STR) weekly email newsletter is hitting inboxes today. Thank you to the IH community.

I got the itch a few weeks ago to start a new project. After doing normal brainstorming things like going down YouTube rabbit holes, reading every year-end newsletter in my inbox, and lurking IH, I realized turning something I already dedicate time to into an outward facing project might be the perfect option. Going this route was a no brainer once I remembered I had already stashed a domain for the project a while back when I first considered it.

The concept is to take all the things I read, listen to, and watch during the week for my own benefit as an STR host and boil them down to one recommendation in each medium.

In addition to the weekly newsletter, I will be producing four other primary pieces of content: 1 video reviewing all items in the newsletter (5-7 minutes) and 1 short video (less than 60 seconds) for each of the three recommendations.

I decided to go with beehiiv as my platform. I reached out to a few STR curious friends to get a handful of subscribers before my first send. I will provide an update at the one-month mark to let you all know how things are going.

Special thanks to @joshdance for this post that gave me the final nudge to jump and execute the project. Seeing the curiosity, work, and camaraderie across the IH community really helped me get over the should I / should I not hump.
