Prepare. You should have at least 10-20 questions ready by interview time. Don't just ask generic questions. Read up on your guest and questions that fit well with their experiences, interests, and expertise. Then make a few passes over your questions to refine and improve them.
When it's time to do the interview, chat casually with your guest for a bit. Just have a normal conversation, be energetic, get them comfortable.
During the episode, listen. Don't just ask your questions rapid fire without listening. Listen to what they're saying and ask natural follow-up questions. Resort to the questions on your list only when the time is right.
Listen back to your episode after it's done and make notes on how you can improve. Be easy on yourself. It's your first time!

It went well! I feel like there were times I didn't ask the right question to get a deeper answer, but it was not bad. As usual things seem to go wrong and I got sick overnight with a head cold and had congestion throughout the interview, but we made it through and hopefully the audio is not wack haha.

It becomes intuitive in many ways.

I have 8 more episodes to record for the season and then I will start releasing them. I wanted to be able to reliably release one a week and figured i would wait until they are all recorded since you never know if a guest may have to reschedule or if I will haha

For me, the best thing I have learned in interviewing people on Code Story (https://codestory.co) is to let them do the talking. I find that I don't enjoy podcasts where the host talks an equal amount or more as the guest on the show. Let them tell their story, but guide them into how you want them to tell it with your questions and show flow.
Also, be confident and speak up. You will do great.
