First lifetime payment: my customer used my tool to make money out of it
I want to share a little milestone that made my day, I just got my first lifetime payment user for StarterPilot. Previously I’ve had folks on monthly subscriptions, but this was my first real “all in” commitment.

But the coolest part was the customer’s story. We jumped on a quick call and he told me he landed a big project to build websites for his own clients. I’m building something similar in spirit but for a different space: an AI-powered compliance assistant for solo founders and small teams navigating HIPAA, GDPR, or SOC 2. Compliance can feel like a blocker for landing big deals — I’m trying to flip that by making it feel more like a growth unlock (think: auto-generated docs, risk tracking, etc., without the enterprise bloat).
