First paying customers

I got the first users, including some of them paying for the service!

What I did was to wear the prospect's hat, which required forgetting everything I know about the tool, the technical details, the industry... And focus on three main things:

  • See if the concept can be shown off in an exciting way
  • See if people pay for it
  • See if it is helpful for people

I talked with 12 people, made 10 accounts, and 3 of them took their credit cards out to subscribe for $15/month!

In the subsequent days, I got questions on the WhatsApp number I shared for customer support, and I saw how 5 of those customers were building their catalogs spontaneously, and 3 of them sold some product! 🤩

Additional insights:

  • There is a wow factor when users try it
  • There is a game component to it: it feels fun to the users to do something apparently hard in such an easy way!
  • The process is as ridiculously simple for users as it was for me; they literally need to type in the price for their product, and everything else is there, ready for them
  • The AI-generated descriptions are good enough for them; the only question I got about them was if they could be edited if needed
  • I received helpful feedback, but none of it was about modifying the core concept, which I think is very important!
  • I noticed the most challenging for the users was knowing what to do with the link once it has been created, but that is promotion, not posting... Interesting... 🤔
