Hello IH, I am about to finish one of my first projects in React JS (Gatsby as static site generator). Mi site is a comparator of electric vehicles such as: scooters, ninebots, segways, bikes... Once you search and filter through the categories you choose a product and it redirects to Amazon (I get an affilate commission if the buys).
I want to know what do you first do when you launch your projects for let people know about it. I did a list(not too long) with a few sites where I will make some noise:
-IndieHackers.
-Reddit (SideProjects): https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/
-Medium (I will write an article explaining the technologies that I used to build the app).
-Other forums(electric scooter forums, eco forums...)
I'll be happy to if you share any ideas/recommendations.
Thank you,
Discover where your potential customers go. Worth to try focus group on Facebook, Reddit and Forums. Best @gardj21
Thx, I will try that Felix.
I can't answer your question, but I have a follow up: Once you write your blog post on medium, how do you spread word about that?
Do you mean about the post on Medium? Well, I expect to write a good enough article in order to attract other developers, so they will become my first users. Hopefully, they will give me valuable feedback about the app and I will win some traffic (I know they are not my main target, but they can spread the word for me if it is good enough).
That's a great start! Outreach is critical, but over-saturation won't help. There are a lot of tech blogs out there, so maybe submit some info to them. That can get a lot of eyes on what you're doing.
