First-touch only works if you write it once

They arrive from a newsletter. They leave. Days later they come back from somewhere noisier and pay. If first-touch updates, the newsletter disappears.

I built Motif so the first touch is written once. The closing visit is still real. It is not allowed to steal the channel. It will feel wrong the first time a retargeting click does not get the sale.
