Fiverr. Let's Share the good tips

Hi makers!

From 20 days we try to build a project, we try to be everywhere, to do everything, but sometimes it's not needed. It's why we begin to outsource some tasks on Fiverr.

I thought it's can be good if we share our good/bad experiences somewhere, to understand and debate which kind of service it's possible to outsource or not. Good Idea?

What we outsource at Kelyst:

  • Blog articles
  • SEO

Why?

  • Unfortunately we are not native English speakers, and it's better for us to write the article or have the idea, and ask a third person to rewrite or write it.
  • We try to build a presence online but we all know it's very difficult and a little boost from outside is always welcome.

Who is good?

For example I wanted to share Anthea Fiverr profile, at the beginning she writes for health and wellness niche but she was able to write real estate articles for us, And I think she is capable to write for any subject.
Don't hesitate to try her gigs.

Who is bad?

Some other gigs were just 200% sh*t sorry to say that but I order some backlinks to another guy, He delivered the work with a report but mostly, the links provided were not working... I lied, two were working:

  • the first website is an Israel/Palestinian website about a soccer club with maybe 30 000 useless comments probably his other orders.
  • the second one is a website to buy a machine to grow your p€nis...

As you can imagine it's not the kind of website you want your links in. But it's quite good to learn.

Tips working for us at this moment?

  • Sometimes put privilege on new onboarded Fiverr profiles! Give them a chance, they probably will put more work when they begin than a Fiverr factory profile. If the work is totally not good ask to be refunded, they will accept it because like this you can't leave a bad rating.

  • For quality satisfaction, I begin to choose who I think is a digital nomad, native English people leaving in Asia, for example, keep low prices and deliver great content.

  • Always discuss with the Fiverr profile before ordering, at this moment they want you to pay and they will answer more faster. If I asked before, my backlinks gig about the kind of websites he will target, I am sure I will not order it, but I forgot...

  • Obviously, always watch the reviews and provide a consistent brief before starting the gig and be sure the guy and you are on the same track.

What can we outsource?

Rule #1 : Try to make it first by yourself

Understand what is the work before to appreciate the taste of the result. You need video ads? Download After Effect, watch some tutorials, try! It's also can help you to clarify what you really want.

Rule #2 : If you can't check the result don't order!

For example me as a developer, I made a script to check all the backlinks of the gig, the reviews were good, but probably people were not able to check is work.

I hope this little post will help you and I will be happy to share yours favorite Fiverr profiles and your experience on this platform.

Hey @GuillaumeSarfati these are some pretty good tips!

I had a side business on Fiverr with 2 others and we had a relatively successful profile offering explainer videos and content writing, editing, etc, so I've been on both sides of the supply/demand chain.

I'd like to list down some tips:

    1. Don't trust a seller who asks for payment upfront or tries to upsell without first discussing your project with you, in detail,
    2. Always check the reviews and ratings - they tell you a lot about the kind of seller you're working with,
    3. Every few months, Fiverr updates its algorithms and brings profiles with fewer sales but better performance to the top search results - give these profiles a try!
    4. It takes time but if you find a seller you like, stick with them - a great seller knows the worth of repeat customers (side-note: almost 90% of my Fiverr sales were by one customer with a lot of cash and a great idea - it was a win-win relationship),
    5. Try to scout out profiles that have few spelling mistakes and semi-professional graphics (all the copy for our gigs was professionally-written and tailored),
    6. Know exactly what it is you want - miscommunication is a killer!
    7. If you're unable to decide on who to pick, know that Top Rated Sellers are usually a good bet though they might be pricier!

Hope these help out potential Fiverr users!

Hello @xmok, thanks, it's very interesting to read your tips and totally complementary with mine! Interesting the #4! Also, do you have any Fiverr profile recommendations?

      1. 2

Glad I could be of help! I don't really have any recommendations as it's been a couple of years since I used the platform and a quick browsing of the gigs doesn't ring any bells. That being said, we had most of our work done in-house and our main purchase was voice-overs for our explainer videos and for that we just used two of the Top Rated Sellers we'd worked with before: one male voice and one female voice.

I've used Fiverr to have Sketch files converted to HTML. Usually about $30/screen. I was very pleased with the results and value.

Thanks for the tips! I've always wondered what the quality is like on Fiverr. Always assumed it was crap. I'll give it a try sometime.

It depends on the subject I think, but you can have great results when you find your team

Great article - but you did not mention success or failure with SEO. We are looking to outsource this as well. Any recommendations or folk we should connect with on Fiverr or Upwork? Thanks again. Matt
