There's no elegant way to put it. I have a scarcity mindset which has been growing strong over the years. I have been talking about starting a business for many years yet I have nothing to show for. While I did built two websites - an ecomm and a directory - which were both sold at a loss, I feel that my mindset including the belief system is self-sabotaging my journey towards achieving my entrepreneurial goals.
So I have decided to take action and I booked my first hypnotherapy session for next week. I have never done hypnotherapy before but I feel (and want to believe that) it could be a piece in the puzzle to get myself on the right track and start moving forward.
Has anyone done hypnotherapy before? What was your experience?
I've done hypnotherapy. But I probably wasn't that lucky with the therapist I've chosen so I didn't get that much of it. But I have a lot of respect for hypnotherapy I even study hypnosis a bit.
Did you choose traditional or Ericksonian hypnotherapy?
I'm not sure. I don't think it mentions anything on his website. https://www.melbournecognitivehypnotherapy.com.au/
To be honest, as for a therapist the page looks too salesy.
He is definitely in Ericsonian camp (that's not bad I was just curious :))
"I have been a Melbourne clinical hypnotherapist and personal success cognitive coach for many years now, with continuing studies based on the work of great mentors of mine, Dr. Milton Erickson and Igor Ledochowski."
But I would be wary about the association with Igor Ledochowski - he is a lawyer turned hypnotist, not a therapist and he is a very info-product guy as far as I can tell.
Don't want to dissuade you of it - this is a really big and important step - just be sure to check that this guy has proper certifications as a therapist not just some courses on hypnosis.
Thanks for your comment and looking into this. As a marketer myself, i did find his whole marketing + onboarding process very "tight" for a therapist, however the 4.8/5 stars and 118 reviews sold it to me.
Worse case scenario I wasted $150 which I'm not too worried about. But if he can help me out the upside could be significant.
I guess as with any type of therapy, the first step is to be open to the idea that it can work and help me... shall see.
I have booked the session for this Thursday, I'll report back :)
Good luck, mate!
How do you define having a "scarcity mindset"?
Being quite anxious about money and spending it, and having a deep feeling that there's only so much that is coming my way. That's the best I can do to explain it.
