Hi there,
I recently embarked on a new project that's been on my mind for a while: a SaaS uptime monitoring service. It's modern, smart, and affordable, and it offers a range of common and used features such as monitoring/pinging, status pages, integrations, team members and multi-region checks, API access, and more. I also plan to focus on some niche areas that I think are valuable.
This project has a special meaning to me because it stems from an experience I had a few years ago. Back in 2017, I was working at an agency as a backend developer and we shipped a lot of websites and campaigns for customers. But if something went wrong and the site went down, we didn't know about it until the customer called us. At the time, I looked into using Pingdom to solve this problem, but it was too expensive for what seemed like a simple task. So, I decided to try building my own solution. I started learning Go and even went to a Gopher meetup in Stockholm to learn more. However, I eventually got stuck in my full-time job and ended up focusing on video games and having fun with friends instead.
Fast forward to today, and I'm more motivated and inspired than ever before. I still have my full-time job, but since December 2022, I've been putting in plenty of hours on this project after work and I'm committed to seeing it through. My goal is to create something useful that I'm passionate about and can work on as a side business, generating MRR in the long term.
I know I mentioned "flipping the script," and what I meant by that was that I started working on this project before even trying to validate my idea with a waiting list landing page, etc. However, I'm still working on that aspect as well.
I'm excited to share this with you and to start my first SaaS business in 2023. It's going to be a big year for me, and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me.
Congratulations on getting started with building your dream!! :D
Create your product page here, I would love to follow your journey.
More power to you my friend :)
Thank you so much! I will do that! :D
