Would like to hear your opinions and validate an idea:
So local products within a food-themed box.
Imagine you want to do Asian food, or hallowen menu. You have to search the internet for good recipes, then go to supermarkets and hope you find all products, then search for the recipe again to cook.
If there was a food theme box that you order, that would include a kit with ingredients measured for a
Focused on sustainability the produce will be only local till it was a possible and heavy focus on plan base menus in general.
The menu besides features the ingredients of course, would feature the producers and also add recipes to make a booklet.
What is your opinion? What are the upsides and downsides of it?
Thank you
I think this is a great idea and sounds a lot like Blue Apron: https://www.blueapron.com/
Which is good because their model works.
Thank you Badis. Yes, I know blue apron. There is quite a lot nowadays, with the covid they have been grown exponentially. My plan is more local and more within a niche but actually blue apron is one of the first I saw when I was searching :)
Good luck to you :) I think the main hurdle is going to be the operational side and margins. I used to be close to a founder in this space (bimbimgo a french company) they managed to grow enough to raise $2m quite fast. I think it doesn't exist anymore and the main problem was not making enough per sale I think. Maybe an unrelated example, but just thought I should mention it. :) best of luck
You are so right. I have been working in the hospitality industry for many years and I know margins are the worst here. Plus the logistics of it.
This idea has been changing with time and how weird it might sound, it's going to start as an info product basically. More on that soon as I am creating the product lineout now :)
