For anyone out there starting an e-commerce brand

G'day everyone,

I started an e-commerce brand around 4 years ago, raised a couple of rounds of funding and had some mild success.

Anyway, I had no idea what I was doing when I started and I thought there may be people here in the same situation. Not a how-to guide at all, but I documented a few things I'd do differently if I was starting again (and a few things I'd keep the same).

If there is anyone in that situation, hope this helps a little!

Great read! I love the notion of focusing on improving 1% every day. Sometimes it can be overwhelming trying to decide what to do next on your brand or figuring out where to spend your time :)

Yes, doesn't feel like much each day but when you look back on it a month later, it looks great!

Shame I worked this one out at the end, but always need something for the next business I suppose.

I love this! Thanks so much for sharing, Nick. Honestly chortled when you mentioned your checkout was broken when Vance Joy posted about you because that's so typical and it's happened to every entrepreneur at least once, lol.

Any tips for avoiding the ad fatigue and constantly coming up with new ideas?

      Thanks @LanaRafaela - that was absolutely a lowlight :(

That's a tough one but I'd say you don't need to get too out there on coming up with new ideas for ad content. One good photo/video shoot should be able to last months with different cutting up, backgrounds etc. plus different targeting options. Just make sure you're as prepared for the shoot day as possible. (And while you may have ad fatigue, a lot of potential customers won't have even seen the ads)

Got it! Thanks, that's great advice. :D
