Hi Guys,
quick questions,
- Which tool do you use for measuring user's behaviour in your Chrome extension? Do you use Google Analytics, or maybe something else? What are pros and cons?
- Which metrics do you consider valuable?
I am eager to know what you think.
Hi Olek,
For first question,
I personally use Amplitude for measuring user's behaviour along with Google analytics.
Issues I faced with Google analytics and is, Install and uninstall metrics doesn't match with actual data I had it in database.
I felt amplitude works a lot better to analyse user behaviours by means of pushing key user events and generating charts based on the behaviour we intent in our product. These help me to find & filter list of users based on different event metrics. One more thing I like here is measuring improvements after a product version releases.
I use Google analytics alongside because the traffic source & geographical distribution details are easy to find over there.
GA for collective user analysis and amplitude for narrowing down to specific user events.
For the second question, the key metric depends mostly on the business need. In my case, I was building a chrome extension to keep users active for daily learning. Key metric for me is retention. For some products it might be the frequency of behaviour intent ( might be completing the workflow )
