I live in LA.
Any golfer here will tell you it's extremely difficult to secure a good tee time. I'd spend most mornings surfing GolfNow hunting for suitable times.
One day I noticed that several courses I'd played never showed up. Initially I thought it was just due to lack of availability, but after researching, I discovered other tee time providers and realized each only shows their own inventory.
So I started building a Notion doc with all the courses I'd found and their booking websites. It was basically a glorified bookmark folder, but it was convenient to have ALL my options in one place with their associated links.
I took it a step further and bought a database of courses, plotting them on a Mapbox map. I added golf-specific filters that Google Maps didn't support, and voila - that became v1 of Golfers Radar.
For now, it's just a map showing every available nearby course. It's particularly useful if you want to see what courses are around without the clutter Google serves up.
But it's only half the story. In the near future, I hope to secure the necessary API credentials to sync the courses with their tee sheets to make finding tee times easier.
