We used this 'day planner' for our ProducHunt launch to bring more attention — following it helped us get higher (upvotes and comments).
The list is 100% free and contains the D-Day playbook: using all of your available resources to get the most exposure for your product.
Great advice and thank you for sharing it!
I have a new website, LogoMakerr.AI (https://logomakerr.ai/) that generates logos and brand kits in 5 minutes or less! I will try your strategy and hopefully gain huge improvements.
Thank you!
Nice tool, useful.
Thanks!
Happy I could help!
Thank you for sharing it!
IMHO the most effective strategy for gaining visibility on ProductHunt is to establish a strong social network and community for your product before the launch date, although this might seem contradictory. I think such tactics work only if you already have a sizable audience with whom you can share your launch.
Yes, precisely. Getting an audience is essential, and I think this trick works best if you have a 'build in public' audience — the BIP Twitter community is very supportive!
Thank you very much, I've made a copy of it for the future
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the doc! Which facebook and slack groups to share specifically were helpful for getting feedback?
Hey Max, no worries. Any lifetime deal-related Facebook group we could post on, although without trying to spam. As for Slack, we didn't end up posting anywhere, unfortunately.
This is really helpful thanks
Appreciate the comment! Let me know if I can help you with anything :)
Thank you for sharing this!
My pleasure :)
This is amazing, thank you for sharing this! I will use this for ShelfQR's launch on PH in mid June!
Awesome, good luck with the launch!
It seemed like a great tool, and I wish I had discovered it before launching my product, GhostCut. GhostCut is an AI-based product that automatically translates subtitles, removes watermarks, and extracts audio from videos. I was full of confidence when I launched it on PH, and I followed a detailed timeline recording what I needed to do before the release. However, despite conducting significant user research and ensuring that the product was viable and filled a real need, I did not achieve the desired results. I only received a few dozen upvotes, and the feedback was not very positive. Although I received some valuable suggestions and questions, I believe that achieving better results on PH requires first focusing on attracting a core group of users and ensuring that you have a basic number of upvotes and comments. Additionally, titles, product descriptions, and video thumbnails need to be attractive and engaging to users. I dare say that video content is not as crucial. In conclusion, I hope this is helpful for everyone, and please feel free to try my product
Thank you sharing your thoughts!
This is great—definitely going to reference it when it comes to launch time. Quick question though, for a newbie: what does "Post PH launch trick on Reddit" refer to?
Hey there! The 'trick' refers to following the people who liked, reviewed, commented, and basically interacted to other products in the same industry — or those that reacted to your competitor's post. Here's a detailed explanation: https://www.reddit.com/r/SaaS/comments/13omc3z/found_a_trick_that_got_us_higher_on_producthunt/
Nice! Thanks @chdavid!
Happy to help :)
great tool
Hey, thanks for the support! I'm here if you have any questions about it :)
wow! such a great tool
Appreciate the support! Any questions you have, I'm here to help.
Is product hunt also good for more of an agency model or only products?
Could you go a bit more into detail? An example would be helpful
Do you think ProductHunt is suitable to get attention for a productised service agency?
I'm not sure, I would say not. People on PH like start-ups and smaller products, but it comes down to what the agency looks like and what kind of audience it targets.
Interesting!
Just wonder why we aren't focusing on actions that take longer to have an effect, such as sharing the launch on LinkedIn or posting about it in advance.
Since the PH launch is a 24-hour competition game, getting support early on will result in more upvotes.
Thanks for the question! Personally, I and Daniel don't have a huge audience on LinkedIn — lots of the people there also follow us on Twitter and are rather active on Twitter than on LI. Hence why we didn't focus that much on LinkedIn.
If you have a greater audience on LinkedIn, 100% go for it. As you said, getting support in the first 24hrs is crucial, so you need to expose your product to your whole audience.
