Founders & Content creators: Stop guessing, start asking

Hey IH!

After two failed pivots (wedding tech and sports coordination), I finally launched something people actually seem to want.

The problem I kept seeing:

Creators posting Instagram polls asking “what should I make next?” and then losing all that data when it expires in 24 hours. Startups guessing which features to build because alternatives costs more , they are not real-time and they’re bootstrapping.

Everyone’s just… guessing.

What I built:

UpNextly is dead simple - you get a voting board at upnextly.co/yourname. Share it anywhere (Instagram bio, website, whatever). People vote on what you should create next. Ideas don’t disappear. Votes stack up over time. You can actually see what your audience wants.

No logins required for voters. Takes 60 seconds to set up. Free forever for the basics.

What's next:

Right now it's voting + roadmap updates + links in one board. But I'm talking to creators weekly and there are some real pain points around collaboration and sponsored content that keep coming up.

Planning to add:

  • Collaboration showcase (highlight brand partnerships directly on your board)

  • Better analytics for tracking what your audience actually engages with

  • More ways to turn voters into subscribers

Not building features in a vacuum this time. Learning from the failed pivots - actually talking to users first.

The tech:

Real-time voting. Anonymous voting with IP + browser fingerprinting to prevent duplicates. Built with Next.js 14. Nothing fancy, just works.

Current status:

Just launched today. Free tier gives you 1 board, 6 active ideas, unlimited votes. Pro is coming soon with unlimited ideas and removing branding. Haven’t made a dollar yet but the waitlist is growing.

What I learned from the pivots:

My initial solution was theoretically good but practically didn't help Wedding coordinators. Sports league organizers said no to my solutions. But both needed the same thing underneath - real-time updates and simple decision-making tools. So I kept the tech, changed the problem.

Try it: upnextly.co

Would love your honest feedback. What am I missing? What’s stupid? What would make you actually use this?
