Free Chrome Extension for Tab Hoarders

What's up everybody 👋

I'm a tab hoarder - I have 2 computers and on both of them I probably have 20 to 30 Chrome tabs open at all times.

Eats around 30-80% of my RAM depending on the machine and sometimes I struggle finding what I'm looking for.

There are tons of extensions that already try to solve this problem. Toby, OneTab, BetterOneTab, The Great Suspender to name a few. Some of them are quite intrusive, e.g. force you to have them as "new tab", just don't have the full functionality I seek (searchbility, hotkeys, etc.), or are way to cluttered for my taste.

So I decided to build one myself. It can currently do the following:

  • Save tabs to group with hotkey or click (all open tabs, or to either side of the active tab)
  • Quick search through all of the saved tabs (searches through titles)
  • Drag and drop tabs between groups
  • Open/delete tabs by group or individually
  • Share tabs by group or individually (a list of links, or a single link)

I will also implement an optional "autosupend" feature that unloads inactive tabs (for example after 1 hour of inactivity) from memory. The unloaded tab will still stay in the tab strip and reloads as soon as it is clicked.

Admittedly, this is currently more of a passion project for a few people with a super vague vision to monetize it. I thought of cloud backup/sync and a web app for access on any device and sharing with ppl.

Not released to the public yet.

Oh man! I really need this extension 😞

When can you release it to public?

Hey @ufocoder, cool you are interested!

I'm planning on starting a closed beta this week. If you want I can shoot you a DM on twitter when it is on the store. It will be invisible at first, so only link access.

Awesome, that would be cool 😎

DM me the link when it's available. I've followed you on Twitter 😇
        Thanks
