Chirpier's using Google Cloud Platform for our infrastructure needs - which I've found balances functionality and developer experience. No cloud provider's perfect, but having used AWS and Azure for other jobs, I still go back to GCP.
For tech teams that are just starting out they offer the $300 free credits for the first 3 months. But that's not quite enough to keep a startup going in the first few years, and isn't as generous as AWS.
One other way to get free compute from GCP is to apply to their Startups Program:
https://cloud.google.com/startup?hl=en
I'd recommend applying for more free credits this way - and would say most Indie Hackers would be able to get the more generous $2,000 that can be used over the next 2 years.
Happy hacking.
