Free Landing Page Advice pt 2 👋! (here we go again...)

Hey guys! After seeing how my previous landing page feedback post went, I am deciding to do a part 2 on it. Many people reached out to me saying they appreciated that I took the time to write HIGH QUALITY feedback for the landing page. Some thought they were too late but still posted their landing page.

I believe that some people might have missed out on the previous post and didn't get feedback on their landing page 😟.

Please reply in the comments with your website link and why you think it stands out from other landing pages out there.

Thanks so much and I'll see you in the comments! 😉👍

Hey Brayden, just launched a new landing page this morning. Would love your feedback:

    https://wunderbucket.io/

    1. 2

Hey @levinunnink! Very fresh style! I love your work, man!

I would suggest moving the features page to the main page so everything is on one page. Unless you plan to add more content and pages, I would move everything to one page. The illustrations are very good and are quite unique looking.

The download form is a bit off though. The input boxes need a bit more padding around the text inside them. Keep the monospaced style though. It makes that part stand out.

Great work and I'm excited to see this grow in the future!

      1. 1

Thanks, Brayden. That's a great suggestion. Much appreciated.

    2. 1

Personally, love it. Its a breath of fresh air from all these similar looking "modern saas" landing pages.

  2. 2

Hi Brayden, would love to hear what you think https://polyui.com/

    1. 1

Hey @satchmo! I remember reviewing this! Nice job but I can't really tell the changes you've made other than that you've messed up the parallax. Come on man! That was pretty cool! The section with the "Seamless integrations with your favorite software" title has it's icons disappear when in view and appear when scrolling away. Was that a mistake? I would flip it around so it appears when you scroll into view. Also, the "You Design. We Code." section's parallax isn't the same as it was before.

I don't know if you wanted it to look like that or if it's just a mistake, but I would set it back to how it was originally.

Please fix those and let me know if you want more feedback on newer updates! 😄

    Hey Brayden,

Thanks so much for doing this for the IH community 🙏 — I still can’t believe you responded to all of the comments in your last post. That’s incredible and awesome of you to do!

No worries if you’re busy, but I’d appreciate if you could take a look at

    https://www.profitkit.io/

There’s still a ton I want to do to improve the landing page, but I’ve currently got my hands tied with in-app development tasks. I think for the time being, it stands out a bit from other apps in that a part of the product is shown upfront and is interactive. Our “social proof” is also placed a bit higher as well (in the hero header — with numbers — and right below — with testimonials).

    1. 2

Thanks so much! I love helping people 😄 with web development/design!

Your site is very organized and looks professional. Just a comment on the ProfitKit logo though. The first thing it reminds me of is the Shopify logo. You should work changing the font of it. Something with the same style, but not too similar to Shopify's (sorry if it will mess up lots of stuff).

You should make the "revenue recorded" group and the ones next to it pop out more. You want people to say "wow! I should sign up!" after seeing your landing page. More conversions is great for your business. 👍

The calendar on the landing page could use some fine tuning though. Make the money/title stand out.

Also, the prices section should make your customer's want to buy it. Pick which one you find most popular and make the price group a bit more special looking instead of just making it bigger. Or make the Premium one a bit more highlighted with a banner that says something like "best value!" or something like that. I don't know the product as much as you do so you would know the decision to give you the most conversions/buyers.

Great work and I can see this being very helpful! 👍👏

      1. 1

No problem — and I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to check out the site and respond so quickly!

Whoa, I didn’t even realize that the logo looks like Shopify’s 🙈I have 0 logo design experience, so honestly most of my logos have just been Google Fonts (italicized and/or bolded). Fortunately because of that, the logo is pretty easy to change and won’t mess things up 😀 I might look more into logo generators or hiring someone to create a custom logo soon.

Awesome, will definitely think about what else I can do to make the numbers and pricing stand out more.

Thanks again for the detailed feedback, and please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you out!

        1. 1

          Sounds good! 👍

If you're okay, I would be fine making a logo for you.

          1. 1

Definitely open to the idea! Will send you an email shortly 👍

  4. 2

Very late to the party this time too :D but if you are still reading, we just did a redesign and spent some time with the copy - https://startglobal.co/

    1. 1

Very nice logo and minimal design. The video player looks very cool 👍. Your icons fit very well with the theme. When I click on the X button at the top that says "We are experiencing delays in our EIN process due to the Covid-19 situation in the US." it doesn't close. Please fix that.

On the sign in page, make StartGlobal logo clickable and lead the user to the home page. Also, when the drop down nav is opened, the StartGlobal logo is covered and is not visible.

      Great style! 👍

  5. 2

Yo! I’m actively working on a redesign, but I’d love your input on Crowdheavy

    https://www.crowdheavy.com/

    1. 2

Very nice site. The buttons could be a bit round though. The sharp edges don't look good. Also, try setting on one or two accent colors. Red and blue are nice, but try something out of this palette.

On the "User testing made easy" section. It feels a bit odd for the groups to have a red background on hover when it when there is nothing to do with it (like go to a new page or open a popup modal).

Good job and keep me up to date on this project! 😄

      1. 1

Ohh! Excellent. Thanks for this feedback 🤠 I’ll keep you abreast of what’s up. Don’t hesitate to reach out!

      Haha... hahahahahahahah!!! 🤣😆

Wait really? Okay okay. 🙏 Please don't hate me Google. Don't shut me down because of this. haha jk....

Well here we go. Well Google, your doodles every day always impress me. They are each unique in their own way and I look forward to seeing them. The "I'm feeling lucky" button is a nice touch. I would make it stand out more because it's a cool feature, but I don't hear from friends and others that they use it so it must not be so much popular as you'd like it to be.

Material design is great and I've always been a fan of the clean, consistent look of it. Keep it up!

Maybe Material2.0 in the future? Haha! Thanks @JoshTernyak for the question by the way. 😄👍

    1. 1

Very nice opening @LeoNeo! However, I feel like it takes to long to fade in all the objects. When I scroll to the page that says "You need a little space", it feels like the page is all blank so I continued to scroll and right when I started doing that, the images finally showed up. Fix that for sure.

The rest of your animation on your site look nice though and really add a punch 👊 to your site 😄. The navigation menu in mobile looks a bit strange though when you have only only link that says "sign up". Just make the "sign up" button a bit smaller and put it on the navigation with removing the nav burger button.

Good job and keep me posted on how this goes! 👏😉

      1. 1

Thank you for the feedback ^^

  6. 2

    Hey Brayden,

You have reviewed our homepage ( https://dorik.io ) last time. We have made some changes to the design and contents.

I'd love to know your feedback. 🙌

    Thanks

    1. 1

Very nice @mizan! You made some great changes! The animations are awesome too!

The one thing I would fix is the price points animation. I don't think they should come completely together. They should each have some margins between them and be a bit shorter. You could add a learn more section if you still wanted to tell people what comes in each pack.

      Nice job! 👏😄

    1. 3

I think your landing page looks great and has a unique identity. The color palette is also on point 👌. Dark mode is a nice touch and you should have a smoother transition to it. The navigation bar on an iPhone 11 (or I guess any phone) looks pretty weird. The links are squished and breaking to a new line. I would suggest adding a drop down menu to it.

I have more questions about your product itself.

      1. Why is this better than other products out there?
      2. Why would I use it (because I'm a fan of font awesome. make me betray font awesome and come onto css.gg's side 😄)
      3. Is it really lightweight? Is that just because there aren't as many icons as other sites so you would say it is lightweight? What I mean is that the ratio of icons to file size might be different because you don't have as much icons like FontAwesome which has over 1500 free and 7500 pro (about 9000 in total)
      4. Do you plan to add more icons (because that will make you very popular)
      5. Will you add a price point to certain icons (free, pro, premium)

Good luck! I think this will be a great product! 👏😄

      1. 1

Thank You very much for the feedback and so sorry for late response it has been hectic around here since this is a side project and I do freelancing also.

Very much appreciated and noted all these.

        1. Because it supports more than you can count tools and frameworks, plus it has 700 icons and it is open source. For example there is no icon library that you can add icons purely on CSS.
        2. You would use this because it is easy to setup and minimal design
        3. Yes it is, if you take all 700 icons together might not be but it is the most modular icon set that I have seen so far and all icons work independently specially if you use styled components where if you remove the component also the icon is gone and style with it not like feathericons that you transfer all the icons for each request
        4. I plan to do possibly by the end of this year 300 more and reach 1k icons and stop there since it is taking quite some time from me but has been a wonderful experience.
        5. No pricepoint for icons as it would not be fair I consider it will forever be free but I will add things as addition for UI and themes that people can purchase but I would use the traffic the icons generate as well if you know what I mean

        Thank you

        1. 2

Sounds great @astrit! I agree with the minimal aspect of your icons. A good amount of FontAwesome's icons are kinda unprofessional-looking. I'll be sure to use css.gg's icons in my next project. 😄

          Wish you luck, man! 😃

  7. 2

    https://pingr.io
    Any feedback is welcome.

I'm still working on it. I plan to

    1. Add live site checking right on the landing page with nice report
    2. Add smooth animations to blocks
    3. Fix some issues (I know the pricing badge is broken. the prices are sample btw, not real ones)
    4. Add some parallax maybe
    1. 2

Looks like you've got it then @Akcium! By far one of the best I've seen on this post so far! The app icons look great and the font goes well with it too. I think your idea is very good and I'll consider signing up. 😉👍

I think the list of things you'll work on almost covered it all from my point of view. The responsive design works very well and I'm impressed 👏.

Here's a little challenge. Try animating your Pinger logo when you hover over its link on the navigation. Maybe spin it around, make it look like its hovering? I don't know. Just something to try out I guess. 😄

Very nice website and keep me posted on how those improvement go!

      1. 2

        Oh, you're flattering me :D
Thank you, I'll let you know when I'll finish it! You keep me motivated to make it better :)

        1. 1

I would suggest adding Pingr as a product to IndieHackers and ProductHunt so more will see it.

          1. 1

Will do. Currently I'm polishing everything, fixing bugs etc. Since I don't want to fail on producthunt. The product itself is not fully finished :) Thank you!

            1. 1

              Sounds good dude! 👍

        2. 1

          Wish you luck! 😄

    1. 1

Great job making your page unique! 😄👍

I think the brown usually wouldn't be a good choice but you made it work. However, your site is missing an accent color. Yes. I know. Your logo is all brown and your site is just different shades of brown. Use something like blue or orange as an accent for the buttons, some section backgrounds, and for sure the syntax highlighting in the code. The logo also looks nice too. Maybe no the navigation bar you can add the logo next to dogger.io? The buttons are very clickable and have a nice effect added to them.

Also, in mobile view, the "dogger-compose.yml contents" code section is cut off and that would be hard for your mobile users to see.

Great job on the landing page overall @ffMathy! 👏😄

      1. 2

Thank you so much for your feedback. I implemented quite a few changes now. Do you like the new design and where I'm going with it?

It's not fully feature-complete yet compared to the old design - I would just love to know if I'm headed in the right direction.

It still doesn't have a lot of accent colors though. I'll work on that soon.

        1. 1

Ok, sounds good! However when I check dogger.io it says "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable"

          1. 1

Argh - you're experiencing the first downtime I've ever had. Ironically, it is related to the new landing page.

Typical! I applied a fix now.

    2. 1

      Hey Mathias,

I have taken a look at your website before and although I kinda understand the concept I do wonder why I should go with dogger instead of directly with AWS. I have no experience with deploying with Docker but I'd recommend putting 2 or 3 blocks on your page with your advantages and especially the unique value proposition of Dogger.

And perhaps a link in the navigation for installation? I saw it on the page now under CLI powered but if I'd like to try it I will be looking for the words 'installation' or something.

      I love your pricing table!

  8. 1

Hi Brayden. You're awesome! Thanks in advance.

I don't know that the landing page stands out from others, but here you go...

    https://musemasters.org

    1. 2

I think your site looks pretty well. Try going with a font like Inter or Open Sans instead of Poppins or whatever you used.

I think your navigation bar shouldn't be as tall as you made it. The padding around your logo is to much and you should decrease the size for the padding and the logo by a bit. The bar also shouldn't be see through. It is very distracting when I am scrolling through your content and part of the content is only somewhat visible.

Maybe you should make the Get Early Access button with a hover animation. Maybe it floats on hover, or changes it's background or something. A dynamic and interactive website will attract more users. 👍

Hope you have a good day! 😄

      1. 2

Thank you for the feedback. So quick!

I used Open Sans for the paragraphs...I'll look into Inter for the headings. I think you're right about the transparency, back it goes, lol. I like the idea of a hover animation for the button... will look into implementing that too! Thanks again!

        1. 1

No problem! Tell me if you need anything else or if you want help on another web development/design project. I'm available. 😄

  9. 1

Hey Brayden! We've just published the first landing page for https://speakersbench.com
We're very excited about this (obviously) but what do you think about it? :)

    1. 1

Very neat idea! The vector illustrations look very cool.

Instead of showing a popup when trying to click on the search box, I would have a small diagonal banner over part of the search bar that says coming soon June 2020. Then if they click on that, the popup will show.

Make sure you check your Google lighthouse audit reports often. The SEO and Best practices are 100%. However the Accessibility and Performance are under 20%.

I would suggest going through those suggestions google lighthouse gives you to improve the overall grade of your site.

I think this could grow into something great! 👍

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback. I'm definitely going to improve the lighthouse score!

  10. 1

    Hi Brayden,

Took your feedback and revamped the entire homepage. Can you please have a look at www.kimp.io and let me know what do you think?

    1. 1

Very nice colors you got on the front of your page. The monkey is pretty cool 🐵👍

The groups with the icons on top of them (like the ones in the "Kimp perks" section) need some animation. Try out Animate on Scroll.
It will enhance your website for sure! Also add it to other elements in your site without making it too much.

The FAQ items open up weird. They are delayed when you click on them and then pop out all the way. It has a very awkward feel. Just do a nice smooth 0.75s opening movement. That will look better.

Pretty cool illustrations and site! 👍

  11. 1

Hi Brayden, would love to get your feedback on the landing page for my app Archives. https://www.archivesapp.com/

I've still got some work to do, but wanted to get something up and running to point people to.

    1. 2

Very interesting idea! Love it! 😄👍

I think your app screenshots and mock ups are all good to go. Now you need to make them look great on your site. Try using some AOS animations. They will greatly improve how your images and content look and feel on your site. This is a very popular feature to add to your site.

I'm not loving the font. You use Poppins. It isn't a bad choice but it overall doesn't look very professional and instead you should leave that for things live portfolios or blogs. I would use Inter. It is very popular and if you can get the text, buttons, and images to look right with it, your site will be awesome 👌.

Something I would suggest is to make a dark mode for your APP (if you haven't already). Then make a light/dark mode toggle on your website. It will look very nice. It is also a common feature to add on a website and it is becoming popular.

Great product (I signed up for beta)! 😄

      1. 1

        Thats all great feedback, thanks!

And also thanks for signing up to try the beta!

  12. 1

Hey Brayden, I signed up officially to IH because of your post.

    Our site is https://www.andarwallets.com

It is always a WIP, so any feedback would be well-received and appreciated!

    1. 1

The landing page itself looks pretty nice. I would try to make the navigation bar all on one line because it is too tall when you scroll down. It covers the content. On mobile view, the COVID-19 banner is a bit squished a doesn't have much padding on the top and bottom.

The "get the deal" button also looks strange because it covers the screen on my phone.

I know it is a WIP so there are always new updates. So tell me how it goes! 👍

    1. 1

Very cool site! I love the "Don't go quietly about your business" section. It stands out pretty well and when I did a quick scroll through the beginning, I couldn't skip reading that part.

The testimonials section is okay but could use a bit more than a grey background for each card. Also, the Lalapoint logo above the "request a demo" seems unnecessary.

I also think you should add some type of the client dashboard somewhere on the landing page.

Great work and I'm excited to see how these changes go! 👍😄

    1. 1

The orange looks great on your site. The front is very attracting and the dashboard screenshot is a nice touch.

I think your content is all there and the images look great. However, the drop down menu for the features navigation link comes down to sudden and should show itself by dragging downward in an animation.

Nice job! Tell me if you bring any new updates to it! 👍😉

  13. 1

trainermade.com - its a relatively simple site, not sure how I can optimize design. Any feedback would be awesome!

    1. 1

The intro video on trainermade looks good. It really tells you what your app is with out even reading anything else. The screenshots for the phone could use a bit more "pop!"

Try some other sites like Smartmockups to add more dynamic mock up devices. The logo could definitely use a do-over along with the buttons. The grey and dark blue do not mesh well together. Try implementing an orange color in the design somewhere.

Wish you luck with the new changes! 👍

  14. 1

Thanks so much for helping us out. My website https://justcast.com I will be great that you can take a look at it.

    1. 1

Cool site! Content is all there and one first glance, it looks nice.

However, when I'm scrolling through, I'm missing some of those great AOS transitions. I suggest you add them. It will make your site much more attractive.

I also will give you some feedback on something I've told a handful of others on this post. "Make your price points pop!" This will make your users more drawn to certain one. Because hey, if it's a "pro plan", make it look pro! That will attract more users to looking at the pro plan and not the free one. Doing this could generate more revenue for you. Also, if you add more types of plans in the future, label which one is the most popular. Just a thought. 😄

Great work and keep it up! 👍

  15. 1

    Hey Brayden 👋

Would love to hear your feedback about my themes bundle page!

    https://aspirethemes.com/bundle

    Thanks for all your time!

    1. 2

Very good landing page! Makes me want to buy one (except I don't write on a blog). Still awesome though!

I think one thing that needs fixing is the amount of content on the landing page in mobile mode. I scrolled through it on my phone and it was a lot. Since most of the page is just displaying work and themes, you could limit the amount of them on the page.

Then for displaying your themes, I would decrease the amount of empty space on the right side of the product page. You see? there is a lot of space on the right side.

      I think you have a well-polished website @ahmadajmi! Great work! 👏

      1. 1

Brayden, thank you so much for all of your feedback, so appreciate it! 🙏

Two very valid points. I will work on them very soon 👌

  16. 1

    Hello Brayden,

I've posted in the feedback section months ago but it never got any attention. But this is great, thank you for doing this. I'm sure this will be super helpful for people on here.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you could give me some feedback on landing page here: https://yeerodite.com

This is v1. I'm working on releasing a new iteration more sections to include.

    1. 1

Okay. The first big thing that I would suggest is to make the website darker. What I mean is that you should keep the background light and the colors how they are, but the contrast between the images/text/background is not very good. I had a hard time reading the content my first go at looking over your website. Also, it will be even harder to read because the text is so teeny-weeny.

The Yeerodite logo at the top is a bit strange-looking. There seem to be some parts that are a bit darker than others and that is because the text is somewhat transparent and you are using tight letter spacing. I would say that you should keep the letter spacing. That is okay. However, if you want the same text color, go with the #b8b8bc hex code. I checked and that is basically the color of your text on that background without the transparent look. This will eliminate the overlapping.

Keep working on this and you'll be getting more conversions on your site. 👍

      1. 1

        Thank you Brayden!

Valuable feedback, will implement and work on them in my next iteration, thanks again!

  17. 1

We just released a new landing page for our Website Monitoring use case:

I'd love to hear your thoughts. I see lots of other people have left links here, so I totally understand if you don't have time to get to all. Thanks Brayden!

    1. 1

Pretty spiffy! Big upgrade from the last one!

I think your "Works on any website" section is a bit too dark. Stick with white or go with a purple background (and white text of course). The signup section is just right except that the sign up button and other buttons on your site don't look very good. Buttons like these are becoming pretty popular. I suggest you try it out on your site.

Looks great! Tell me if you have any new things you want me to check out and I'll be happy to do give you more feedback! 👍😉

      1. 1

I tried flat buttons before. Didn't like them much, but I'll give them another shot!
        Thanks a lot Brayden! 🙏

    1. 1

Very nice concept! The screenshots look great. The mock ups too. Add some parallax to the images or add some animate on scroll effects. The facts/stats on the page stand out very well. Fix the email form on the top. It doesn't look as nice as the other elements in the site. I think the input needs more padding and shouldn't have a completely rounded border.

Very minimal and I think it is a great landing page! 👍

  18. 1

    https://topstonks.com

Theres a little bit of humor hidden in there, but overall it could use polish. That being said it's converting 15-20%

    1. 1

The page could use some tuning up. It is very clean and organized, but almost too clean that it seems like something is missing.

The footer is also kinda bland. There's only two links so make sure it pops.

I can't say much else because it seems unfinished. Feel free to send me it a again when you make more progress

Overall, keep working on the site. It could use some work but will be well worth it! 👍

    1. 1

The idea is very good. Rubik fits well with your site and its color palette. The search form feels a bit off-centered. It doesn't look good when it is floated the right like you have it. The fostering FAQ page looks a bit bland with all the text. Spice it up a bit and try out this design.

Also, the images on your landing page itself are only the profile pics of dogs. Try adding some vector images too next to the content to make it look more modern (because text isn't the ONLY thing the users want to see).

Thanks for sending me this! Great job! 👍

Hey Brayden, just launched my MVP.
    www.taaloom.com

    1. 1

Interesting. I know this is a MVP so it doesn't have much instructions yet. Make sure you add those when you launch the product for real. I was confused when I went on your site (probably because I don't know Quran) so you should add a simple intro that tells how to practice on your site.

The design could also use some work. The colors don't fit together at all. Yes. This is the minimal version of your product, but I want you to keep that in mind when launching it for real. Also, a dark and light theme I imagine will be a popular feature on your site for sure.

      Good luck with taaloom.com! 👏😄

      1. 1

Thank you so much for the feedback !

    1. 1

Cool idea! Maybe you should make the buttons on the landing page float when you hover over them? Just a thought that came mind. Add some AOS transitions to the content. That will make it pop.

The quote towards the bottom of your page is a cool idea. Very nice 👏! The color palette is great too. Just for fun, try out implementing a dark theme on your site. The current COVID19 stats is an interesting part. Try to add one of those global COVID19 heat maps too. Those are very popular and help users visualize the data better.

Great job! Keep up the good work! 👍

      1. 2

@BraydenTW - This is seriously helpful feedback. Thank you for taking the time to not only share your thoughts but also provide helpful resources. Thanks once again. You rock.

        1. 1

          Thanks, man! 👍

Means a lot to me! 😄

    1. 2

      Very nice landing page! 👍

The front of the page could use some work though. There is almost too much green and it doesn't look very good. I would bring the white vector wave up a bit so you can see it on the front. Also, you should look ahead and now that some of the text on the front won't be visible because it will be white on white. Try adding a white background with a light box-shadow with black text inside so it is visible.

On the free trial section on the bottom, I noticed that you used a red/orange button. Try to find more ways to use that color in your site.

      Nice job overall @Lobovkin! 👏

Recently I have given https://skyhop.org an overhaul.

    The great things so far;

    • It looks clean and has a consistent color scheme
    • All relevant information is easily accessible
    • There is a clear call to action

I think further improvements are primarily related to offering actual access to the product, which I'm working on now.

Ps. I realize now I should probably still put some effort in making it more responsive.

    1. 1

I think your list of why it's great is very true. The theme is very consistent and well thought out. The airplane vector image on the front looks very nice too. Try dragging the image up because the right side of the front page looks empty. Bringing the image will help fill up that space. Or you could bring some of the navigation links to the right side and that would work just fine.

Yes, the responsive factor of your site could use some work. All you really have to do is zoom in so there isn't a huge margin on the content and add <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"> to your <head> tag. That will make it responsive for mobile. Your work is not done yet though but that will get you a good start.

Wish you luck! Learning responsive design is tough at first but will be worth it! 😄👍

      1. 1

Thanks for your feedback! I hope to add a 'login' or 'go to demo' button in the right top corner soon, combined with a few clouds to fill it up better.

I should know to design mobile first by now, but for some reason I almost never follow up on this best practice ':)

        1. 1

          Okay, cool! 👍

To be honest, I used to think the same about the whole mobile first best practice. But I tried it once on a project, and never looked back. It will tremendously save time later.

          1. 1

How did you flip the mental switch to going mobile first?

My whole workflow is desktop first, mainly because of the screen real estate I have available.

            1. 1

Well I had to come to realize that the amount mobile users are going to increase in the next couple of years for sure and it will drive more traffic to your site. Plus, google gives you a better SEO rank if it's mobile friendly 🤗

    https://smartobjects.co/

Just released a few days ago any feedback welcome :)

    1. 1

The list next to "chat with us" that has the cart and products items on it looks a bit hidden. Doesn't really stand out to me. I know that your whole content is a bit off-centered because of that group on the left, but I would suggest modifying it so that it's in the center.

The responsive design looks nice from my view (14in 1080p) and the navigation menu looks nice! 👍

The footer has a bit to much space on between the two groups inside it. Maybe add a light grey background to it too?

Overall, the thing I would suggest you fix is the whole off-centered issue and do something with that all products section on the side so it doesn't cause the content to float to the left. Wish you luck! 👍

      1. 1

Thanks mate appreciate it, will change the chat button and the colour of the bottom block to a light colour tonight. The centred content will probably take me a little longer haha. Thanks again!

    https://usertrack.net/

It's still mostly based on an old design, but I keep changing/improving it.
    Any suggestions are welcome!

    Thank you Brayden! 😊

    1. 1

Hey @XCS, the design is a bit old... but I think you can make it work for now. If you want to stick with this design, change the logo. I can't really see the "U" very well in "userTrack". The buy now button looked strange at first, but I changed my mind when it had the cool jiggle hover effect. Nice job! Very unique! 👍

I think you should also try to fix the the video container on the front of the page. There are other video frameworks like Video.js that will work well.

I can't give you too much feedback for now because like you said, you will "keep changing/improving it". So that's okay 👍. Feel free to submit it back in this post or just send me the link and I'll be happy to give it some more pointers. 😄

      1. 1

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

The design itself was updated recently, what parts of it make it seem outdated?
I did get some other comments about the logo not looking that great.

What do you mean by fixing the video container? Is anything wrong with it, or using Video.js will make it look better? Currently it just uses the native video tag.

I did a lot of changes recently to the landing page and I want to continue working on the product, so I am only going to change something again if it has a real impact.

What's one thing that you would definitely change about the page (related to anything, be it design, wording, CTAs, logo, etc.) ?

        1. 1

I think you should use Video.js to make the video player look nicer. The native tag isn't really the way to go. Either add Video.js or turn off the controls completely and make it loop. That is a bit more trending (and will make your site look less old).

I understand you want to work more on the product so I'll make this short. I think your content, CTA, and wording is all there. To be honest, everything in your website doesn't look old. It's just that some things like the buttons, logo, video player, and video quality (resolution) make your site as a whole look old.

Fix those quick issues, and you're good to go! 👏

          1. 1

            Thanks a lot!

I think you should use Video.js to make the video player look nicer. The native tag isn't really the way to go.

I am really against adding JS to my site that is not really needed. I think the video player looks are based on the browser that you are using, in Chrome it looks ok, what browser are you using?

I think that removing some of the controls is a good idea (the three dots menu, the sound icon if it doesn't actually have sound). I also agree that the preview image is pretty low resolution. I think I should make a new presentation video entirely, but not sure if it should showcase the product or how easy it is to install or just be more promotional-like.

This is how the video player looks for me on Chrome:
            video

            1. 2

I use chrome too. The problem about it is that if you look up popular landing pages with videos on the front, you usually won't have the controls on it. That's just my thought. Don't feel like you have to add video.js though. Removing the controls and re-doing the presentation will be just fine. 👍

              1. 1

I was actually looking at popular sites to see how they show their video, but all the sites names that came to my mind didn't actually have a video above the fold. It's a bit strange, I remember videos being more popular in hero sections. Most of them just use simple/short GIFs it seems.

                1. 2

Yeah sorry about that. I meant to say that they use GIFs on their front page. See if you can show something short to attract users.

  23. 1

    Hey Brayden!

If you have a moment to take a look at https://remotequiz.app any feedback would be fantastic.

I initially just built this app for myself and friends but recently opened it up to others so have made a full landing page!

    Thanks, James.

    1. 2

Very cool idea for these times we're in. To me, the part where you list all the quizzes looks a bit like Kahoot's site. Not a bad idea though. I would change it up though so people in the future will recognize this is your's. On the "sign up it's free button" when you hover on it don't change the background to that gradient. It looks ugly (sorry 😟). It looks a bit old. Change it to something else.

Also, your site is starting to have a fun playful looks to it and you want your users to feel that. I would suggest changing your font to Rubik and Muli. Those two will look great on your site and will help establish your product's identity.

      Great job! 👍

      1. 1

Thanks very much for the feedback. I keep meaning to fix that button, I'll get on to it now! Great points on the look and feel will also have a look at that :D

  24. 1

    https://www.collorem.com

I'm not sure it does stand out. I try to list what the site is about and give a CTA, but not sure I'm doing the best job of it!

    1. 1

Hey @adlee83! I remember giving you feedback on this site before! Love what you've done with it. I would for sure sign up for a subscription (for software development). The blue as an accent looks nice but I think you should try a dark theme. If the blue doesn't work well with the dark theme, try a more purplish blue. I like the breadcrumbs in the menu and I think they are a nice touch. I would suggest making things more navigatable (idk if thats a word 🤷‍♂️). For example, instead of going through the four different pages to get to web development, maybe have a featured section on the front of your page with the most popular topics.

Great job and I can see this becoming a very fine 👌 website! 👍👏

      1. 1

Thanks for the response. The dark theme idea would be pretty cool, and I think popular topics is something I'll probably implement in the next week or so! Thanks again!

    2. 1

I'd suggest making it a bit more scannable. Although you emphasized some words they do not really attract ones attention. The CTA is quite soon before you convinced someone to join. Prove them, collorem really provides value. Maybe a testimonial or something?

      1. 1

I'm curious what you mean by "scannable" do you mean the text at the top or actually finding the content of the site?

        1. 2

I mean the text at the top, the actual 'marketing' text. If I would scroll 5 to 10 seconds through the page and scan some text quickly I'm probably still not sure what your site offers. People don't take the time to read every paragraph anymore. They quickly want to know what you offer and if it's interesting for them. That's why I try to make my landing page more scannable by using really big headers for the paragraphs. And I try to explain the global concept of my idea with just the headers.

          1. 1

            That's great feedback. Thanks!

  25. 1

    https://sailnear.com
First time I ever added a short video / gif to a landingpage. Thought it would give it more character

    1. 1

Nice theme! It is very consistent and looks great! 👍

I think the section that says "Want to try it yourself?" has a font that is too thick. The letters feel very squished together and I feel like a background color for it can be a better way to make it pop out than thicker text.

Maybe you should make the "New introducing sailnear" button on the top entirely clickable. The first thing I clicked on was the text and didn't even see the arrow. So it took a couple more tries than expected.

The sign up and log in sections looks nice though and you used your theme well for it. However, the log in and sign up forms are a bit off vertically centered. Transform its Y value to be at the top. Make the translateY value to the height of the navigation bar. That will bring it to the center.

      Good job @Maltmax! 👏

      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback. I will change what you pointed out. Thanks again!

    1. 3

Hey @Eli2! I remember reviewing passportlist.co on my previous post. I like the changes you made.

For the text that says "Search below your passport to see all the countries you can travel to visa-free, visa on arrival, visa required and eVisa countries", add a seperation after that so the "👇" emojis get their own line. The passport groups with the flags in the back can have a light overlay. I can't see the flags very well. With that, make the text darker to. Each flag group should be smaller to. Try 4 per row instead of 3.

I think your favicon logo looks nice and is great even though they make the logos so small. I can still see the airplane and the earth in the background.

Just a thought. How about you add a dark theme to it. I am a big fan of dark themes. That's why IndieHackers looks nice.

So I think this landing page could use some more work but I wish you well on it! Please feel free to send me the link again so I can see how much you've improved! 😃👏

      1. 1

Thanks so much for the feedback, I will definitely implement them. Again, thanks very much sir, and have a nice day

    Verimail.io & veriphone.io
Why it stands out? I want it no bullshit straight to the point.

    1. 1

Hey! That's pretty good. It is very straight to the point. I like how both are consistent but just different main colors like green and blue. Personally, I dig the blue more than the green but I guess that's just me. 😉

I can tell the two sites apart well on the front of the page, but as I scroll down more, they start to look more alike. And at the "or top-up your account with never-expiring pay-as-you-go credits" section, the two are almost identical. Maybe use the two accent colors to your advantage. The Verimail site has green buttons on the "or top-up your account with never-expiring pay-as-you-go credits" section but the Veriphone site has no blue buttons on that part of its site. I don't think it should also be green.

Nice consistent theme though and I think it looks great! Just work on the identity of each site. How do you want your users to feel when scrolling through each one? Wish you well @AdilBEK 😃

First of all, I don't know if you've already heard this yet but the footer is floating. It's not touching the bottom of the screen which is a clear design issue. I like the vector images and your font choice though. Seems like something my family would use. I would fix the about us page though. The line height is a bit too tight. and the text could be thinner.

Work on those changes and your site will look cleaner overall. 👍

Looks like you've improved it since the last time I saw it @rrttalv! The "How to start using Social Oracle?" section is probably my favorite part. Easy to understand and very descriptive with the vector images. The footer on the bottom looks a bit strange though. It looks like a blue sky and a green hill but the bump in the green looks a bit out of place compared to the rest of the flat part.

I would also change the "get started" button. Try to design that button to look something along the lines of one of these buttons. The box shadow honestly isn't very attractive and the transition is too slow.

      Keep improving, man! 👊😄

Nice job! Compared to the other products like this out there on the web, I would by yours 👍! The intro animation of your product being in use is a good idea. Also, the emojis next to the title are a nice touch. I think a tall and big navigation bar was a good choice too.

This might be an interesting feature. How about you style the changelog to make it look more like Github's changelog or even better? The way you have your change log is a bit plain and boring with just text. On the "Why Baitblock" page, you should add more emojis to the header like you did on the front of the landing page.

Nice job and I'm excited to see this grow! 😃👏
