Hey podcasters,
I'm working on a transcription service for podcasters.
I'm offering free transcriptions if you'll let me ask you a few questions and provide product feedback.
So far the product does speaker recognition and (obviously) speech to text, but I want to hear more about podcasters needs and find out what might be missing from other services

Thanks @gordon! @schoon If you're interested, email me at andrew at noco.io, I'll send you a link :)
Are these transcriptions made by people or computers?
@jjung and what are your thoughts about transcriptions made by people?
I think there is no substitute for transcription by people yet.
Transcription by services like google speech-to-text are getting pretty good (quality varies based on sound quality and accent), but their error rate is still high enough that a person needs to take a pass at it.
It takes me a significant amount of time to clean up a machine transcript to remove the mistakes, bad punctuation, and add paragraph breaks. Still, I am glad they exist because if I couldn't get a machine transcription to work with as a base I probably wouldn't do transcripts at all.
Of course, if you don't mind the mistakes a raw machine transcription is better than none at all. They are often good enough these days that you can understand most of the conversation without any editing.

I see. I think it will be very difficult to compete with Descript.
I'd love to try this out and provide feedback. It's something I've always wanted to offer my audience but struggle to find the time for, especially on weekly episodes. I know Youtube might be able to do something similar but that's in the wrong environment for the audience too.
Hey @sijobling. I've reached out to several podcasters and they all seem to use descript to do this.
I'm curious as to why you'd want to use a separate transcription service?
email me at andrew at noco.io, I'll send you the link.
I’ve never used Descript but I can have a look.
Potentially interested in integrating the service into Plink (https://plinkhq.com/) we can poll users.
Hey Scott,
Was just drafting an email to you, but I'll reply here (and get you the link shortly).
Plink looks awesome btw, and you have some good looking customers :)
What are you hoping to accomplish with the transcriptions?
