Free tool to create a LinkedIn banner of GitHub contributions

LinkedIn Banner

My friend and I created BannerFox, a free tool for developers to create beautiful LinkedIn banners that show off their Github contributions!

If you're currently on the job search, this is a great way to stand out from other developers.

Open to feedback!

How can I change the user, though? I tried using my own GitHub username and, unsurprisingly, only have about 2 commits this year. To get a better view, I attempted to shamelessly steal data from a different user. However, I can't find an option to change the user anywhere in the interface, not even in the query string 🤔

Hey @inficate, I apologize for the confusing UI.

Just give the page a refresh and it'll let you enter a new GitHub username. Definitely need to add a way to clear that!

Also, if you haven't already, turn on private contributions for your GitHub contribution graph. It won't show any sensitive data, but your private commits will show up in that graph. This might help with the 2 commits per year issue!

Love it ! Planned to build it but now I don't need to haha @justing

    My feedback:

    1. In the pop-up to fill the Github URL. Consider to allow users to paste the full URL and go. In my first try, I open github to copy my profile url and past to the box - then I have to manually delete

    2. A color or gradient background could be easier than images. It's good if you could through some pre-picked color/gradient background so I dont need to leave your site

    3. More color for more personalities

      Hey vutran,

Thank you for taking the time to try it out! I love all your suggestions and have noted them down.

I'm excited to keep iterating on BannerFox, so feedback like this is amazing!
