You know when you try to sell to bigger customers, and they ask you if your data is secure?
They ask if you have a SOC 2?
Googling "SOC 2" leads you down a rabbit hole about compliance and policies. And you bump into a compliance tool that costs $10k-$15k to help you. There is no pricing... You had to find the pricing or ask around on the Indiehacker forum.

This is disingenuous. Makes you wonder do you even need SOC 2 compliance? https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=24486697
Startups are trying to show that their data is secure. Why is it so damn painful...
If you do still decide to pursue SOC 2, there is a startup program from Kintent made to help you get a formalized SOC 2 plan in a few minutes. And you can showcase to those customers you are in-progress toward getting SOC 2 and restart the sales conversations.
Google Analytics is free
Github is free
AWS has a free tier
Even Segment.io is free
We believe SOC 2 should be free
Yeah free for startups. Really.

We even brought the domain

I know it's all overwhelming. I am learning that SOC 2 is confusing, and to qualify for bigger customers, you need to show your SaaS tool and your data is secure. Doing that shouldn't be a $10k-15k problem...
