Heya,
I want to start doing a simple YouTube channel, but don't have a budget. I want to be able to splice together clips, make them shorter where needed, add titles, transitions and music etc., but don't want to be limited to 3 minutes or a certain amount of storage etc., Simple Simple video editing :)
Happy to do this on a Mac as well, but my primary driver at this point is Windows 10 but any suggestions are always welcome.
Davinci Resolve! It is a pro level video editing program that has a fully functioning free version. All you get with the pro version are some collaboration tools. Mac or Windows.
iMovie for the Mac is fairly decent to get started, although limited. There are simple transitions, title captions, file splitting, and separate audio tracks which has been enough for me.
OpenShot is a good free choice as well which has much more functionality. The only downside I've found is that it's slower and a bit buggier than iMovie for playing back and for exporting. My experience has only been on the Mac version though so this may be better on Windows.
I was used Lightworks. It is a amazing program and yes, u can use Mac or Windows. If u want to more easy video editing software, you may check Openshot
