On the most recent episode of This Week in Startups, Quincy Larson, founder of freeCodeCamp.org talked about FCC and how it has grown rapidly since the current crisis started.
FCC, which is known to many of us, has been teaching people all over the world how to code - FOR FREE! They are a registered charity in the US and rely on donations to survive.
What if we did an IH community donation drive for FCC? If so, I'll throw in the first $20 USD to get it started. Can we get to $20K?
I'm actually going to be building out my side-project with the intention of donating a % of the revenue to FCC.
It was the gateway for me to get to where I am and is going to be the gateway for many moving forward - such a worthy cause.
That's amazing James, and I'm sure it'll inspire others to do the same. 👏🏻
Great idea Blake! I can mention your post in the free code camp study group I run here: https://streakoid.com/challenges/5e78fa25e8921d45040f86c6
Thanks Reece. I'm really trying to motivate the IH community as well. I'm sure many of us have used FCC 😃
