I've worked for a few companies, and in each of those companies i've had to build some sort of I18n system from scratch. So I decided that I'd create one that would be easily integrated into Github projects so you could create translations in a PR and merge it and have them deployed via your CI/CD processes.
I didn't go down the route of having API fetching and any of that because when it comes to this i've found it reads fastest from files.
So I tried to launch this product, luckily I had an excuse on Saturdays for a while to work on this and I got an MVP out the door. This MVP didn't gain any traction, I basically tried to beg a few companies to try it out in order to get it out there and nothing. So I abandoned it.
This weekend I happened to have some free time and thought oh I'll give this a facelift and see if anything happens. Over the weekend I updated the SEO, gave the home page a new lease on life, updated the pricing to be a simple monthly or yearly package and the most important feature, I introduced an A.I that would suggest translations for other languages.
This is when it took off, from a project that barely got 2 / 3 views a day it's currently on 1100 views today with 12 paying customers after signing up for the product. My "dead" project just needed that one feature to make it a contender and fortunately for me, A.I suggestions was that feature.
