Like many, I used to track my debts in an Excel spreadsheet—manually updating balances, due dates, and payments. It worked… until it didn’t. I missed a payment, paid unnecessary interest, and realized there had to be a better way.
That’s when I had the “What if?” moment:
What if I turned this into a tool that helps others, not just me?
Building Debtfreeo wasn’t something I planned for years. I gave myself a challenge:
👉 Build the first working version in just 41 days
👉 Use no-code tools (since I’m not a full-time developer)
👉 Make it simple, effective, and actually help people pay off debt faster
I used Lovable to bring the idea to life, working only on weekends and spare moments. No crazy startup grind, no quitting my job—just consistent effort.
🔹 Small steps add up – I didn’t overthink it. I focused on launching a simple version first and improving it over time.
🔹 User feedback is gold – What I thought was important wasn’t always what users needed. Their insights helped shape Debtfreeo.
🔹 Building in public gets traction – Sharing my journey, rather than just “launching,” made people curious and invested in the process.
Debtfreeo won 1st place in Lovable Launched’s first week, competing against 250+ products! 🎉 It was proof that solving real problems resonates.
The journey doesn’t stop here. I’m working on refining features and getting more users involved.
