From building client websites to getting my first micro-SaaS live in a weekend

I'm a freelance dev. One of my clients kept complaining that he was missing leads because contact form emails were going to spam. By the time he'd check, the lead had already gone to a competitor.

He asked me if there was a way to get form submissions on WhatsApp instead. I looked around, couldn't find anything that was simple enough — most solutions needed Zapier or rebuilding the form entirely.

So I built it myself. FormBeep — you add one script tag to any website, and form submissions show up as WhatsApp messages. No form migration, works with whatever you already have.

Built it over a weekend using Cloudflare Workers + D1 + Meta WhatsApp Business API. The whole thing runs on Cloudflare's free tier for now.

Now I'm trying to figure out distribution. My target is freelance devs and agencies who manage client websites — one developer adopting it could mean 10-20 client sites.

Has anyone here had success selling a dev tool to other freelancers? What worked for getting your first 10 paying users?
