It all started with my son's math homework. Every afternoon, after finishing his exercises, he would come to me to check his work. I wanted him to learn from his mistakes, but reviewing each operation one by one became repetitive. I thought: what if there were a tool that allowed him to check his answers by himself while explaining each step of the process?
I looked for options, but I couldn’t find one that truly did what I needed. So, I decided to create it myself. What started as a solution for my son ended up becoming a web/app used by thousands of children every day. With hardly any promotion, the calculator quickly grew in the Hispanic market, reaching 10K users in just two months and increasing by 10K monthly until reaching the current 100K.
With that success, expanding into the English-speaking market made sense. I translated the website, adjusted some details… but it hasn’t gained traction. Nothing like the organic growth I saw in Spanish.
This has made me wonder: do children in English-speaking countries learn math differently? Or is it perhaps a visibility issue, and I should rethink my strategy?
If anyone has experience with educational products across different markets, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
