From CV project to 110 users in 4 weeks. Building Bloom, a habit tracker with living trees.

I'm Ali, 17. I built Bloom at justgobloom.com.

How it started: I needed a portfolio project. Something to show I could build a real product. So I made a habit tracker where goals become trees that grow when you show up and wilt when you don't.

How it's going: I got my friends and family to use it. Received nothing but positive feedback. So I decided to go all in.

Honest numbers:
About 110 registered users across Canada, UAE, Brazil, and Zimbabwe. 306 Instagram followers, all organic. 9.6% week 1 retention which I know is terrible. Zero revenue and zero marketing budget.

What I've shipped:
7 tree types with unique visual designs. 9 growth stages with cinematic evolution animations. 3 visual modes (light, dark, dawn). Bloom Teams with team gardens and an encouragement system. Push notifications that are timezone-aware. 3 languages (English, French, Portuguese). PWA with offline support.

Tech: React + Vite, Firebase for everything (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Analytics), Vercel, GoDaddy domain.

My biggest problem is retention. 90% of people who sign up never come back after week 1. The product looks good, the mechanic works, but something in the first-day experience isn't sticky enough. If you've cracked early retention in a consumer app I'm all ears.

Summer plan: React Native app for iOS and Android, first revenue attempt at maybe $3 to $5 a month for garden customization, and hopefully 500+ users.
justgobloom.com is free, would love your feedback.
