Hello, Rails Community! 👋
Ever found yourself deep in a Rails project, with a beautiful design in Figma or Sketch but struggling to translate it into Rails code? That moment when you realize turning your design into a functional, stylish Rails app requires a blend of front-end and design expertise you might not have on hand. Especially for bootstrapping startups or solo developers, the idea of hiring both a designer and a front-end developer to morph those designs into Rails-friendly code isn't always feasible.
That's precisely the gap RapidRails Agency aims to bridge. Having navigated the Rails landscape for years, I've encountered many developers and startups facing this exact challenge. This insight led me to establish RapidRails Agency, specializing in transforming your designs into reusable UI components for Rails, leveraging the power of ViewComponent and TailwindCSS.
This service was born from my own experience. Initially creating Rails UI components for personal projects, I realized the broader Rails community could benefit from this approach. That's why I launched it as a product, and it's gaining traction (https://rapidrails.cc/). It's designed to empower your Rails applications by seamlessly converting your unique designs into customizable, beautiful UI elements, without you needing to worry about the intricacies of front-end coding.
Here's the deal: we're trailblazing this service in the Rails world ✨. By turning your design files into Rails code, RapidRails Agency eliminates the need for a separate designer and front-end developer. It's more than just bridging the gap; it's about providing a practical, efficient solution for Rails developers and startups who have a vision but need help bringing it to life in their applications.
I'm excited to share that we're launching RapidRails Agency next week! 🚀 To give you a sneak peek, I'm sharing an image of our landing page. I'd love to hear your thoughts, start a conversation, and understand if our service fits your needs. Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us see how else we can support you and your projects.
If you're sitting on a Figma or Sketch design and wondering how to integrate it into your Rails project, let's chat. I'm here to help transform your design into a living, breathing Rails app, one component at a time. I'm eager to hear about your projects and see how we can make your Rails journey smoother and more beautiful.
Can't wait to see what you're working on and how we can help bring your vision to life!
It's interesting how ViewComponent and TailWindCSS work together!
Thanks Prem.
When TailwindCSS v2 was released I created a few simple ideas of a components to simplify my process development. Only 6 months ago I married TailwindCSS and ViewComponent and it has been awesome 😊. Lots of work to create sets of components though.
Here is an example of a few params of text component. You can see it live at RapidRails Agency where I provide a service for developers and companies to turn their design to Rails UI components.
<%= rui_text(
tag: :p,
size: :body2Xl,
leading: :relaxed,
font_weight: :medium,
color: :inherit,
alignment: :center,
mark: "Transform your designs into customized Rails UI components",
underline: "crafted with ViewComponent and TailwindCSS"
) do %>
Transform your designs into customized Rails UI components, perfectly tailored for startups, businesses, and agencies. Our solutions are crafted with ViewComponent and TailwindCSS, ensuring seamless integration into your Rails applications!
<% end %>
I see
rui_button(text: text, style: :primary) do
text
end
I would take a look at https://versoly.com/versoly-ui/, which is MIT license and see if you can extend that as you will get a lot of stuff prebuilt and can work on unique features.
Thanks for the feedback. While Versoly is a cool service , it is different from what the agency does. We convert design to Rails ui components with viewcomponent and tailwindcss. Versoly has cool UIs examples, i will look into it.
You have a UI kit right?
That is custom built, why "waste" time reinventing everything?
Also imagine a world where a designer designs in Versoly, creates clean Tailwind and then developers like yourself can connect it to Rails.
