From Developer to Indie Hacker: How I Turned a Romantic Gift Into $30,000 With Viral TikTok Content

Hey Indie Hackers,

I’m André, a Brazilian indie hacker. A while ago, I built LoveYuu, a simple product that lets people create personalized romantic pages for their partners with a live relationship timer, photos, and a message — all accessible through a QR code.

I created it on a tight budget, just trying to impress my (now) wife for Valentine’s Day. I was broke, so I built something creative instead of buying an expensive gift.

To my surprise, the reaction was amazing. Then I thought: "What if I turned this into a product?"

I put together the first version of the site in a few days. You’d fill out a form with your names, start date, message, and photos — and it would generate a custom romantic page with a QR code to share.

At first, it didn’t get much attention.

After a few weeks things exploded. The video went viral, couples started sharing their links all over social media, and traffic surged. Orders came in fast and soon after, paid partnerships started showing up too.

So far:
💰 Revenue: $30,000+
📈 Traffic spikes from TikTok
📦 100% bootstrapped
🧑‍💻 Stack: Next.js, Tailwind, TypeScript
⚙️ No login, no database — everything is delivered by email

LoveYuu was my first micro SaaS to go viral and it showed me how powerful simplicity and storytelling can be. I’m now doubling down on indie hacking and trying to build a portfolio of small, profitable projects.

That’s a huge milestone—congrats! Did you hit that $30K in a specific time frame (like monthly/quarterly)? I’m trying to set realistic goals myself

That's an inspiring story. To show my support, I added LoveYuu to my software product curation and launch platform https://softwareontheweb.com/. It is scheduled to be published in about 24 hours. Hope it helps.
