From FileNotepad to LiveShareIt
The idea behind LiveShareIt.com actually started back in 2019 with FileNotepad.com.
At the time, the goal was simple: make it easy to quickly write something online and share it with another person without creating an account or going through unnecessary setup.
Over time, we realized the same problem existed beyond just text. People were constantly jumping between different tools for notes, file sharing, whiteboarding, diagrams, video calls, and collaboration.
That original FileNotepad idea gradually evolved into LiveShareIt: one simple room where people can instantly work together, share files, edit content, whiteboard, create diagrams, and communicate without juggling several different apps.
The motivation is still the same as it was in 2019: make online collaboration as simple as opening a link and starting.
The fact that this evolved from a single-purpose tool over several years is interesting. Curious which part of LiveShareIt people actually use most today.
It took several year because I never touched after first launch. Then started looking at traffic which was around 1.5k weekly active users. That got me motivated to make new and better version.
Mostly people use liveshareit for sharing rich text or code, files either between their own devices or to other people. Hope one day that becomes more collaborative tool that just this
That’s interesting — 1.5k weekly active users from something you had barely touched is a pretty useful signal. I’d be curious to see what happens as you develop the collaborative side.
