From idea to launch in 1 day.

We had the idea 2 days ago.
We built the MVP yesterday.
We launched on Product Hunt today.

What do you think about the product ? Would you subscribe ? If no, why?
Do you think about monetization before or after launching an idea ? Why ?

Interesting but the fact that you don't charge for it doesn't sit well with me. Why did you come to that conclusion?

      1. It was faster to ship. No monetization plans to setup. No crazy hypothesis about how to price.

      2. We would like to build something that people want and talk to users. I thought it was easier to attract users to talk to with a free service.

      3. For now, we mainly build it to use it ourself and grow a community of learners. We don't really mind if it brings money or not immediately.

I agree with this approach. Payment causes high barrier to sign up.

I found it very interesting that, how you have a simple landing page and a google form and that's about it. What did you use to make the landing page?

I am not your target audience. Why? I am the kind guy who installed Duolingo about 5 years ago and keep procrastinating to learn anything beyond, "Una Mujer, un hombre".

Hey! Yep, that's it. I used Umso for the landing page. It's practical. You can ship really fast.
Ahahaha! Yeah, I enjoyed Duolingo during a year... It was funny. You have the feeling to learn. But in fact, you don't really learn much from this app... It's more like a game 🙂Thank you for your feedback 🙏

    It looks great!

I'm not your target audience so I won't be subscribing but you should definitely find some communities of language learners and show them.

I think you should think about monetization after you onboard 5 - 10 users and iron out any potential UX issues.

This is really cool, best of luck!

That's a good point. I totally agree with you. It's the number one advice we give to people once they subscribe: "Learn sounds before words: Always learn the sounds of the alphabet properly before you start trying to memorize vocabulary, that way you can practice reading words you haven’t heard out loud yet."

My co-maker explained the way we learn in the first PH comment. To summary, it's based on :

      • listening interesting podcasts in a foreign language -where you will learn how to pronounce
      • writing and producing content in this language -where you will learn how to communicate.

In the end, we want to learn a language to communicate verbally and orally. We thought starting with verbal communication is more convenient.
