From Idea to Launch: Why I Built TabTrackr — My Nightlife-Inspired App for Smarter Sipping

Hi Indie Hackers! I’m Nicole — educator, entrepreneur, and now, app founder.

I created TabTrackr because I’ve seen how easily a fun night out can turn into regret the next morning—too many drinks, too much money spent, and no clear memory of what happened. As someone who enjoys nightlife and values control, I realized there wasn’t an easy tool to help people stay mindful while still enjoying themselves.

What is TabTrackr?
TabTrackr is a mobile app that lets users track their drink intake, monitor spending, set personal drink limits, get hydration reminders, and even request a safe ride home—all in one sleek, neon-lit interface.

Why this matters:
We track everything from steps to spending… why not drinks too? Especially when safety, wellness, and budgeting are at stake.

I worked with AI to design the initial screens and pitch deck, and I’m collaborating with a developer to bring it to life. I’ve also built merch (because who doesn’t want to sip in style?) and I’m now preparing to raise funds, find early adopters, and partner with bars who want to advertise inside the app.
