From Perfectionist Developer to Lean Entrepreneur: starting of my new journey

Hello Indie Hackers! My name is Andrey, and I'm going to start a journey to my own web business.

A couple of words about myself: I'm quite an introverted web developer who has been in the industry for more than 10 years. I love to solve problems by using code, develop new stuff, and automatize business tasks. But this coin has two sides, I've already tried to start my own project a couple of times, but my engineering mind always convinced me that I need to build a perfect product before showing it to the customers. And, as you may guess, it always ended in the same way. I've been spending many months trying to fit as many features as I can into the product and eventually burned out without a single customer who saw my product.

This time I decided to try a different approach. I knew about the MVP concept and read the Lean Startup book, but only after watching this video: How to Build An MVP | Startup School from Y Combinator (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRZ_l7cVzzU) something clicked in my head. I said to myself, wait a minute, I need to build the tiniest product that I physically can and show it to the customers right away. But it's really hard for me, as my programmer's brain screaming that I need to build this and that feature before showing my work to the world.

It's a super basic idea of a web service that allows you to shorten long links. It's not the next big thing that will change the world, but I think it's good enough to try to tame my developer identity and focus on the business side of the project, communicate with customers, and build the product together with them.

Currently, it only has one feature - you can create short links, and you even don't need to be logged in to have a history of your links. Actually, there is no user system developed yet :)

I have a huge backlog of features that I am eager to implement (analytics, QR codes, custom domains, personalized links, retargeting, etc), but this time I'd like to communicate with potential customers and discuss which features are more important and what use cases need to be covered first.

As a next step, I'm going to reach out to several users on marketing websites and forums and try to start a dialog with them. But if someone from the community is using similar tools I would be happy to get feedback from you.
