Hey IndieHackers,
I’ve spent the last few months lurking in e-commerce subreddits and analyzing Shopify App Store reviews. The pattern was clear: Small merchants are drowning in spreadsheets or paying for enterprise tools that are way too complex for them.
I decided to build Synplex to bridge that gap. It’s an AI-driven inventory forecaster that tells you exactly what to reorder (and when) so you don’t tie up all your cash in overstock.
Where I’m at: The v0 is currently sitting in the Shopify App Store approval queue. It’s that nerve-wracking "limbo" phase where you just want to see your code in the wild.
The Goal: I’m looking for my first 5-10 production users who are tired of manual stock-taking. Since the app is in the final approval stage, I’m looking for "co-pilots" who want to help me break it, fix it, and shape the roadmap.
If you (oder a friend) run a Shopify store and want to stop guessing your inventory needs, I’d love to give you early free access and a "founding user" once we're live.
The way you found this idea is exactly how most successful products start. Sitting in the communities where your users already complain and building the thing they keep asking for. That validation approach is way more reliable than building something in isolation and hoping people want it.
One thing that might help you get those first 5 to 10 users faster is going back to those same Reddit threads where you originally found the problem and sharing what you built as a direct response. Not in a spammy way but genuinely updating the conversation with a solution. People who posted those rants are still subscribed to those threads and they will see it.
The founding user approach is smart too. Early users who feel ownership over the product become your best advocates and they will tell other store owners about it without you having to ask. Good luck with the approval queue.
Great input! Thx.
Managing inventory on spreadsheets is a nightmare because one tiny formula error can lead to a massive overstock that drains your cash flow. Most small sellers don't realize that even a 10% reduction in excess stock can sometimes double their monthly take-home profit. Since you are in the approval queue, have you thought about offering a simple data-only audit for potential users to show them how much they could have saved last month?
