Rishi Mohan, a 32-year-old solo founder originally from India and now based in Berlin, transitioned from side projects to full-time entrepreneurship by launching Orshot in February 2025. Orshot is an AI-driven content automation platform designed for marketing and product teams. It allows users to turn design templates into scalable marketing visuals, PDFs, and videos via a REST API or no-code integrations like Zapier and Make.
Rishi didn't start from scratch; he built on a strong reputation established through years of "building in public" on X, which previously helped him scale his screenshot tool, Pika, to over $100k. By leveraging the Pika audience, maintaining absolute transparency, and prioritizing patient, unglamorous SEO—like writing detailed comparison guides and launching free mini-tools—he slowly built steady, high-intent traffic.
Operating on a usage-based subscription model starting at $39 per month, Orshot has scaled without any full-time staff. Today, the solo venture serves over 5,000 users, has generated 760,000+ visual renders, and brings in $6.2K in Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), proving the long-term compounding power of transparency and organic search traffic.
