From Side Project to SaaS: Building a Screenshot API Solo

Hey IH! 👋 Just launched SnapAPI — a screenshot, PDF, video, and data extraction API for developers.

The problem: Every project I built needed screenshots or web scraping. Every time: set up Puppeteer, fight memory leaks, handle cookie banners, manage Chrome updates. Rinse and repeat.

The solution: One REST API that does it all. Send a URL, get back a screenshot, PDF, video, or structured data. No browser infrastructure to manage.

Tech stack: Node.js + Fastify + Playwright, running on a single $15/mo server in Amsterdam. LRU caching keeps it fast.

• Free tier + paid plans ($9-99/mo)

• 30+ pages of content, SEO in progress

• Solo bootstrapping from Georgia 🇬🇪
