From Teaching to Building Apps for Teachers

I taught HS mathematics for 3 years, in the US and the UK.

I believe that we can leverage current advancements in AI to support learners in the classroom. However, many EdTech products simply point to providing digital content to learners.

While this is a necessary component of learner support in many contexts, I am focussing primarily on helping teachers become better teachers - providing tools that help them manage their teaching workload more efficiently, and track how well students are progressing on their learning journey.

I believe that AI should never replace the human interaction that classroom teachers provide, but instead supplement and support. If we can help reduce the time teachers spend on admin, teacher burnout may be reduced, and thus teachers would continue to enjoy the profession they gave up so much to be a part of.

Vised is the first of our tools that we are offering to teachers, to help teachers save hours each week spent on lesson planning (or should we say not spent? - as it normally takes too much time!).

p.s. - I've been building this part time over the past few months - blending prior experience in teaching and Data Science / AI. I'm not a front end developer, and I'm managing all the other parts of the business myself while I continue to hunt for a co-founder, so I chose a tech stack that would allow straightforward setup, easy scaling, and quick to make changes (I always think whatever I build can be 10x better!): mainly Firebase + Flutterflow
