Today I'm excited to launch ZemCV, my first Micro SaaS.
Just a few months ago, building a web application like this felt impossible. Although I come from an engineering background, software development and SaaS were completely new to me. I started learning step by step, made countless mistakes, and kept improving every day.
That's what makes this launch a personal milestone.
I built ZemCV because I noticed many resume builders let users create a resume for free but charge a monthly subscription just to download it.
So I decided to build something different.
With ZemCV, you can:
✅ Create ATS-friendly resumes with AI
✅ Choose from 15+ professional templates
✅ Upload and improve an existing CV
✅ Export a PDF with one click
✅ Get 5 free PDF downloads to start
✅ Buy one-time credits that never expire (no subscriptions)
This is my first SaaS launch, and I'm sure there's still a lot to improve. I'd really appreciate your honest feedback on the product, user experience, or anything else you notice.
Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey. This is just the beginning, and I'm excited to keep building and sharing what I learn along the way. 🚀
The product has good functionality and the one time credit model when used is a good option to have . Wishing you the best
Congrats on launching ZemCV! 🚀 Going from zero SaaS experience to shipping a real product is a huge milestone.
I like the one-time credit model instead of forcing users into subscriptions. The resume space is very competitive, so focusing on a clear pain point like “paying monthly just to download a CV” is a smart approach.
Wishing you the best with user feedback and growth. Looking forward to seeing how ZemCV evolves!
Congrats on shipping, Javed. One useful next step might be tracking what users already have when they arrive: scattered job descriptions, old resumes, achievement notes, and LinkedIn history. The real opportunity may be less “generate a polished resume” and more “turn everything I know about my career into the right story for this specific role.” That could give ZemCV a sharper wedge than templates or AI writing alone.
solo just-launched here too, so peer note first: $50 in week one on a market this crowded is real signal.
saw you told GregoryScottHenson distribution is the real challenge. worth naming the shape of it: resume.io / novoresume / kickresume / canva / linkedin's built-in are what someone sees on google before zemcv loads, all claiming "AI + ATS-friendly" already.
what's the search or share moment where zemcv beats one of them specifically? that answer defines whether the wedge is SEO on a long-tail term, a specific persona (fresh grad? layoff? engineer resumes?), or a shareable output moment.
Hey, it's so Awesome for Students and especially for building different job scenarios. How did you come up with this idea so sharply? :-)
The one-time credits model without recurring subscriptions is a huge selling point—especially since people only need resume builders sporadically. Going from zero SaaS experience to shipping ZemCV is an awesome milestone. Congrats on pushing through the learning curve!
Solving the classic "paywall at download" trap that most resume builders use is a massive win for job seekers. Going from zero web dev experience to launching ZemCV is an awesome milestone—huge congrats on pushing through the learning curve and shipping!

The one-time credit model fits resume building better than a subscription because most users need the product intensely for a short period, then may not return for months. The harder challenge will be proving that the AI improves interview outcomes, not just making the CV look cleaner.
Yes, you are right
Glad we’re on the same page. I’d be curious to see how you structure the scoring once you test it with real founders.
Going from zero SaaS experience to actually shipping is a bigger jump than most people give themselves credit for. What was the part of the process that surprised you the most — something you expected to be hard that wasn't, or vice versa?
I was honestly surprised by how smart AI is. I expected building the product to be the hardest part, but AI made development much faster.
That's a pretty common surprise these days — AI collapsing the "hardest part" from building to something more like validating and positioning. Now that development moved faster than expected, has your bottleneck shifted to something else, like getting the first users or figuring out what to build next?
One-time credits for an episodic product is the right call: subscriptions for tools people use twice a year just manufacture churn and refunds. The harder problem is that your customers leave the market the moment your product works, so repeat revenue has to come from new job seekers, which makes distribution the whole game. Price was never going to be the moat; being findable the exact week someone starts a job hunt is.
Thanks! I completely agree. Distribution is definitely the real challenge, and that's where I'm focusing most of my effort now. Really appreciate the insight!
Hey Javed Ahmed,
What was the biggest problem you faced after publishing the startup?
To market them
The one-time credits instead of a subscription caught my attention.
What gave you enough confidence that this pricing model better matches how people actually use a resume builder, rather than simply making the offer easier to say yes to?
Great question! Most people don't use a resume builder every month, they use it only when applying for jobs. That's why I chose one-time credits instead of subscriptions. Users only pay when they need to export a CV, and their credits never expire. It felt like the fairest model for this use case. Thanks for asking!
Appreciate the context.
Would be good to continue the conversation as you learn how users respond to this model.

Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.
