A friend of mine (Ryan) and I are full stack developers looking for work.
Rather than just sitting around and twiddling our thumbs while we wait to hear back from our current job applications, and looking for more applications, we decided to do some deeper diving with Vue.js and TailwindCSS -- Here is what we have done so far.
Hey Karl, great to know you have used Tailwind. May I know your thoughts and experience or using tailwind?
My team and I are about to use it for the newest project starting this week.
To be honest -- at first I didn't like it. Lots of repeated classes, lots of what seemed like unnecessary duplicated code. Generally all of the buttons look really similar on a project so why would I want to repeat the exact same classes over and over again?
Then later on I started playing with it, and really started to love it. Still lots of the same repeated classes, but it's actually easier for me to manage line by line that I thought it would be.
That was fun. It wasn't obvious what to do other than "Start Battle" -- maybe add the words Energy and Heal to your store items. You probably want a max width for the divs bordered in yellow. Be consistent about "AI" vs "the AI" -- I'd stick with the latter ("The AI claws you").
For further development I think it would be great to have a CSS animation lasting 500-1,000ms when attacks happen, with a different one for Special Attack. These could be something simple like color transitions for the page's background (triggered by adding or removing a class), or something fancy like one of these SVG examples: https://www.creativebloq.com/inspiration/css-animation-examples
Thanks for your feedback! We actually have a couple of ideas for items in the store -- we are just waiting to finish a couple of the other features first (since that would make the ideas easier to implement).
Our first idea was to add a hover effect on the items which would allow for a brief description as well.
We have an idea as far as animating as well -- one of my favorites was moving the icons closer -- kind of like the old school pokemon games.
