Can I give you a related idea? I wish there was a way in macOS to emulate the old Windows "active desktop" feature, where you could have windows with images that stay on your desktop but below other apps. Kinda like a persistent stickie, but under other windows (visible when you Show Desktop). If you build it, you have your first paying customer right here.

See that vertical bar with AOL and stuff? That's what I'm talking about. In old Windows (pre-8), you could define a window to display something (html or images) as part of your desktop. It wouldn't appear in the taskbar, and it would stay under any real application window - because it was effectively part of the desktop wallpaper. I honestly don't need to show a webpage, I've only ever used it with images - typically cheatsheets or small family pics.
