Generating $800+ MRR from my side project UIdeck

https://uideck.com

👋 Fellow makers, Today I am gonna share a short story of UIdeck and few facts about it -

📈Current Stats:
➡23 Landing Pages and UI Kits
➡35K+ Downloads
➡15K+ Newsletter Subscribers
➡1% Paid Customers

💰How UIdeck make money?
TLDR: Freemium model. We provide templates with all basic features for free you only pay when you need premium features such as- footer credit removal, all pages, working forms, etc. by paying a small fee depending on the product.

🧐 Focused Products:

  • SaaS Landing Pages
  • App Landing Pages
  • Bootstrap UI Kits
  • Business Landing Pages
  • Resume/Profile/Personal Templates
  • Event and Coming Soon Pages
    and Snippets

🤔Why UIdeck is Different?:

  1. All UI products are free to use with personal projects. Only pay when you want to use with commercial projects and need premium features
  2. Highly focused on providing the best possible user experience and easy customization option with practical design, not just fancy stuff.
  3. Handcrafted with love, from design to code - no generators or builders used, crafted by following best practices.

⚡How started?:
Started as a UI blog to spend my time and to support @GrayGrids. After analyzing traffic data and users interest we started creating templates/snippets and received overwhelming response. Then, blogging became optional and creating products became the primary goal of UIdeck

📚What did I learn from this project?:
Create real value and give your users good reasons to pay you, you don't need to ask or persuade them.

As a maker or founder, what’s your opinion about UIdeck? any suggestions or feedback appreciated 🙏 and I will try to write a detailed blog post about it in future.

    Thanks for sharing your experience!
I have a couple of questions though.

    1. How much time did it take for you to create 23 landings and kits?
    2. Why do you think the conversion rate is so low (just 1%) in spite of massive downloads and subscribers amounts?
      Thanks!

Hey thanks for your query on this, good points.

      1. It takes really long time, depends on type of landing page (7 days maybe).
      2. Yes, its lower than expected and we are also giving essential features for free to create a strong user base. Our goal is long term and associated with more upcoming projects. And conversion rate is increasing day by day, for example in june it's more than 2%.
I hope, it's much clearer now.

Not much before march, many of them very simple and plain HTML. We started dedicatedly in 2019 with custom and little complex design.
