The "registration to published map in under 3 minutes" benchmark is a smart way to lead — it immediately answers the "why should I care" question. Most map tools still require API key setup, iframe debugging, and custom styling before you even see a result. Removing all that friction is the real product here, not just the map itself. Curious: are you seeing more traction from content creators (bloggers, journalists) or from SaaS builders embedding maps in their products?
Very little traction yet - reaching out relevant bloggers has proved difficult, and journalists much worse ! Most reddit groups are wary of self-promotion, and I haven't gone down the rabbit hole of community engineering yet

Just the vanilla use really: get map and active text with no work.
The idea is that the map is a tool to enhance the content, not a product on its own.
In fairness, we are struggling to get people add it to their pages! The tool is not mature enough for large publishing companies and we haven't found the right bloggers yet.
Adding visual context like maps can make content way more engaging.
It’s one of those things that seems small but changes how people interact with information.
Are people using it more for storytelling or for practical navigation?
It's mostly meant for navigation and in-page reference; while you can tweak it to sync to your story, it's not something explicitly supported.
We do have one feature in the pipeline allowing the map to dynamically show the locations mentioned in the currently visible text, but it falls short of storytelling; more fully fledged tools (mapbox and the like) are probably a safer bet at this point.

Personal frustration really! After a quick proof of concept, I gave some thought to targeting individual users - namely "give a map now!" (via browser extension or a map) but execution speed would require quite a few improvements and that would be at the cost of quality - but LLMs are advancing fast, so who knows maybe in the next few months it will be more easily achievable
