Hi indie hackers,
I need your help. I'm a Germany based founder (Airtape.co -> SaaS) and I'm about to integrate payments into my system. Just found out that it matters in which country you sell to. Especially if you sell to consumers and not to businesses. I was thinking of using Stripe but I'm not sure how to handle sales taxes etc.
Also found paddle.com, they kinda function as a reseller and sell your product and figure out sales tax and billing etc. But they collect 5% + 50c / transaction.
I guess my question is do we have Germany based founders here?
How do y'all fixed / worked around this problem?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi, I’ll be straightforward and mention that I work for PayPro Global. And while I am not a German-based founder, I would recommend our solution. Let me tell you why.
We offer +70 payment methods and over 100 currencies, which helps you sell your product wherever you want from wherever you are. Plus, to offer even greater localization, we have innovative features like regional and dynamic pricing, an AI-powered routing system which increases authorization rate and allows you to seamlessly accept payments.
In terms of taxes, indeed, it matters where you are selling your products to, meaning where your customers are. And each country has its own set of tax rules and regulations. When selling internationally, you will discover that things tend to get very complex and complicated to manage. But PayPro Global offers tax management as well, so you don’t have to worry about that.
Apart from other cool features, we also provide our clients with ongoing optimization consultation and on-the-house customizations, which are essential in creating personalized shopping experiences.
Hope it helps and best of luck!
Yep. I use paddle. The fee is fine for me as it removes a lot of headaches. If you think the fee is too high, try doing vat moss yourself. I doubt it will be cheaper.
Thanks for the reply. Really appreciate it. How’s your experience with paddle so far?
