Get back to work!

I just caught myself having more fun browsing IH than working on my product.

I tried a new experiment: I have to do some meaningful work on the product, before I can browse IH.

It worked: one hour, one chapter drafted. Just one more of those until the first edition of Analytics for Indies is ready for beta readers.

(Wondering what that is? Check out the announcement post: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/announcing-analytics-for-indies-an-e-book-that-shows-you-step-by-step-how-to-set-up-great-analytics-for-your-product-6c6ec27590 )

Maybe you needed to see it too. This community is fun, but reading alone does not a product make!

I use a timer to help me stay focused, following the Pomodoro Technique for the most part. When the timer is running (it ticks audibly) I'm working. Oddly the sound of the ticking helps me focus on the work!

I restrict my use to food/coffee breaks now unless I'm doing some product updates.

You're right, reading != productivity. I wish I was reading more books lately but I'm getting so much done I don't want to lose a few hours a day to reading.

I always time my leisure time. set your phone to 30 minutes. when the ringer goes off, you stop and get back to work.

Haha! We often need reminders like this!
