I think I don't completely agree only with "Offer Free Stuff".
I've been freelancing since 2011, and I've noticed that when you start offering free work on a direct level with a client, 99% of the time they think that they can ask for more and then it's hard to change their mind.
But if you're talking about, for example, publishing a free WordPress theme or plugin in the WordPress repository, then it's a different story and it can work well, opening the doors to paid consultation too.
You are right, I don't suggest a completely free job. When you offer a package you can offer free stuff in a few simple things but the client thinks this is really worthful for him.
