Get your app's brand name reviewed by an expert

What makes a brand name good or bad?

Your growth trajectory can be seriously boosted by a great brand name, but names are a complex mix of art and science. So how can you evaluate them?

Some aspects are easily quantifiable such as character count or pronounceability while others are more subjective, such as how well the name fits your audience or how well it compares to your competition.

Why I'm a naming expert

I've worked on naming projects with everyone from first-time founders to Fortune 500 companies during my career as a naming consultant over many years.

I've given several talks on naming at Kyoto startup summer school and other events, and i've lead internal naming projects at rapidly growing startups.

What I'm building now🌱

I'm so passionate about names that I learned to code over the past year so I could build the naming tool I always wanted to use myself.

If your name gets a low review score or if you need a new name to boost your project's growth, check out https://nameup.app or search for Nameup under products on IH!

    Would love your feedback Ben!

      Planzer. 3 out of 5.

      Why 3?

      • Its shortness is good for sharing.

      • The letter 'z' is rare and can aid stickiness. Here it was added in the middle which may be a negative overall.

      • It is easy to read and say when you see it, but a correction may be required if you only hear it, because of the 'z'. This can slow down sharing and searching.

      My opinion:

      • It's a good name but probably won't be a big help for growth.

      • I think a little of panzer, like a German tank, which is an odd association.

      • It is unique and stands out compared to other planning and task app names.

      • It focuses only on what you do. It could be stronger if it mentioned a benefit or unique quality.

You don't have a critical need for a new name right now, so it depends on your time and budget constraints, but you may consider looking for a better name.

I'd be happy to help you if interested.

    planny.co What do you think?

    1. 1

      Planny. 3.5 out of 5.

      Why 3.5?

      • Short = low-friction for sharing.

      • No stickiness features but it does repeat the letter 'n'.

      • It is easy to pronounce and type.

      My opinion:

      • It's a very good name overall and should help you grow.

      • The fit with your audience seems good.

      • It is unique compared to other tweet scheduler and content scheduler app names.

      • It focuses mostly on what you do. Including some element that covers the why would be stronger.

Note that A score of 4 or higher is extremely rare for technical qualities and 3.5 is very strong by my methods.

        Thank you, very clear!
