We launched Content Gurus (https://contentgurus.co.uk) back in early 2019 and due to other projects/life, we didn't put the effort into it that it deserved even though it had proven to make money with a client (who's still with us to this day).
But we're struggling to come up with a plan for getting clients (I know we have one but it was pure luck and coincidence).
We want to explore scaleable options but also options that take an awful lot of work and effort to pick up clients that we know won't work for the long term but will give us that much-needed revenue boost.
Anyone out there with a productized service, how did you get your first 2, 5, 10 clients? Any advice would be really appreciated!
You've got a good site. Grind + luck + outreach. Increase your marketing efforts. By your own admission, you've got to put some steam behind it. There is just too much information coupled with too little attention span these days for anyone to really care, unless you call their attention to it and if they could benefit from your service.
When I brought a physical product to market several years ago, a lot of my day consisted of cold calls, emails, dealer/distributor visits, niche specific forums. Yeah, it was a grind....for awhile and that was with a really good product in a somewhat saturated market! 😉
When it comes to succeeding in business, there is an awful lot of science behind it, but there is also a lot of luck, networking and sweat equity.
Luck is certainly a huge part of it but it's capitalising on that luck which is vital.
Absolutely crucial!
